"Wow", what a week!
Let's deal tint with the
donations our Branch' has
made in therpast reek.
First of "all, ,$100 was
given to the Westminister
VeteransWing mobile
canteen fund, These
funds assist in giving
hospitalized veterans but
trips to interesting_places
in our southwestern
Ontariot area. Secondly, a
$200 donation towards the
dialysis machine cen-
tered at Westrninister
Hospital, Veterans Wing.
• Thirdly, two wheelchairs
- *ere g -i ven to our
Huronview centre, on
behalf of our branch by
poppy chairman George
•
Rumball and pro Iohn
Deeves.
AU these donations
were made from funds
derived from our Poppy
Drive which we have
each year, and are
largely frotn the public's
generosity at our annual
.poppy drive.
In sports, the district
cribbage 'tournament,
which was held at the
Paisley Brancb, last
Saturday afternoon,
proved to be a Clinton
Legion success story.
Coming home with the
District Trophy was a
team composed of John
Deeves, George Rumbatl,
Eric Switzer, and
Graham Yeats. This

tournament. Second
place high doubles also
went to our Sohn Deeves
and Eric Switzer. ,Two
additional 'teams from
our branch .participated
and made a good
showing, but failed to
qualify for the top six
positions. They were Slim
Lacroix, John Lawson,
Russ Beyers, Jon Sem-
ple, Ed Deeves, Walter
Snary, Bill. Harris, and
Allan Parks,
As .a' first year effort,
our affiliates and
honorary meMbers were
invited to participate in a
district euchre tour-

champions :for the day's
play were 13111 Marsh,
Jake DeR4yter, Bill
Jenkins, and Milt
Schreiber. They were
certainly elated by their
success and so they
should be, as this is the
first year that com-
petitions of this type have
been made available for
our Affiliate and

season hasn't changed as
Eric Schellenberger still
has a slim lead with a
season average of 74.6.

continues with just one
more night to play. An
important reminder to all
