Bedridden patients at the Clinton Public Hospital will rest mor er comfortably
with the .use of this Alternating Pressure Mattress. With a $300 donation
presented by Florence Corrie from the Clinton IODE the hospital will be able to
purchase an additional mattress. Doug Coventry. hosptial administrator
(right) explained that air is alternately pumped into air pockets in the mat-
tress so the patient won't be always lying in one spot and pressure will be
relived from certain parts of the body. (News -Record photo)
Do you know?
The longest fangs of any
snake are those of the
Gaboon viper of tropical
Africa. According to the
Guiness World Book of
Records, one 6 -foot -long
specimin had fangs that
measured almost two
inches long. In 1963 at the
Philadelphia Zoological
Gardens a Gaboon viper
bit itself to death. The
dead snake was found
with its fangs deeply
embedded in its own
back.
