BEAVERS SCOUTS
NEWS... by Mary Freeman
Beavers: 'Red Light Green Light' was the
opening game and the Beavers eagerly joined in
as they arrived at the pond.
Earning badges can be fun and "Keeo" put his
badges on display explaining to the Beavers how
they could earn badges of their own when they
become Cubs. The Beavers are eager to learn of
Cubs and had many questions -to ask of "Keeo".
A reminder to parents there will be no meeting
during spring break. The next regular meeting
beMarch 26.
Cubs -On Saturday, March 8 the Cubs
travelled to Brown's Hill for a toboggan party.
Mike Es(sery, Bev Semple, Grant Morgan, and
Bill Hoggarth were on hand with snowmobiles
for those who preferred the easier way up the
hill. Hot drinks, baked beans and hot dogs
completed a fun day. A special thanks to those
who provided transportation and mother, Sherry
Small& helping With the food.
Thursday night, the Cubs brought their rally
cars to the meeting and competition was keen
among the packs. Winners were finally chosen
from the Brown and Red pack. Badges were
given to Terry Strickland for collectors and
Jamie Gibbings for Black Star.
A note to parents: there will be no meeting
during Spring Break. The next regular meeting
will be March 27.

variety show
Monday evening,
March 10th, there was a
packed auditorium for
the Variety Show at the
Clinton Public School. All
Guides, Brownies, and
Pathfinders from Clinton.
and Vanastra took part
Many piano and organ
solos were enjoyed along
with skits, singing and
dancing. Commissioner
Joyce Irwin spoke briefly
and introduced all the
leaders. The finale was a
Mass choir which sang
"It's a Small World",
"Sing a Song", "Land of
the Silver. Birch" and
Guide "Taps".
During the singing of
Taps the Guide Promise
was repeated by several
Guides and Pathfinders.

practice for the concert.

and Vanastra held a
rehearsal for the Variety
Concert.

then sang several songs.

and enjoyed the braiding
with the older Brownies.
