Personals Mrs. Fred Middleton has returned to her home after spending a month visiting her daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Bob Campbell, Clinton for over two weeks and then to Stratford to spend the rest of the month with Mr. and Mrs. Ted Mid- dleton. Don and ' Audrey Middleton travelled to St. Jacobs and Kitchener last Friday and called at Mr. Ted Middleton's in Stratford to visit and bring Don's mother home with them. Many from the area enjoyed a bus trip to the Flower .Show in Toronto last Wednesday with the, Clinton `_ Horticultural Society. Friends of the Deeves, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Gaul of London sent pictures, one taken from the London Free Press of their pet robin' who lives in the house with them, eats with • them and takes his daily bath in the kitchen sink and dries off on the hot air register. All the grades have taken part in giving money to the missions for our Lenten offering. Speeches have taken up a lot of time and on February 13, eight winners from the school went on to Goderich •to compete in the Ontario English Catholic T.eachers Association zone competition. Two St. Joseph's students 'won in Goderich. Jackie Broderick was judged second in the senior division and will go on to represent St. Joseph's at the Countrywide com- petition in �-Dublin on February 28. Billy Hoskin won first in the junior division. Pancake Day was celebrated on February 19 and many hungry students enjoyed the pancakes made by the student's council. On February 20 there was a mass which the whole schooD . and many people attended to help celebrate Ash Wed- nesday, which is the beginning of the Lenten season. Although many things have happened, the most important event is to take place on March 14 which is the beginning of the March break. Most .teachers and students are looking forward to this break because everyone will have an opportunity for a rest before school starts onde again.
