On the 60th . anniversary of the
founding of Kinsmen clubs in Canada,
it is appropriateto list some of the
major a, ccompiishments of the
• Clinton Kinsmen Club in the past 28
years, since their founding in 1952.
Here is just a partial list of the
hundreds of projects Involving
thousands of hours that the club's
members have carried out over those
28 years. .
1952 7.- President: Trey, Ianson (from
April until October)
Donated a fracture frame to Clinton
: Public Hospital. Presented to the
• • tovvn*- six. large ,waste cans 'in the
"Keep Clinton Clean" campaign.

Wreplaced Trey. in October 1952, •
" Hold a monster Kinsmen Karnival
on Labour Day. (The day began with
a huge Pet Parade. All money that
was raised was used to pay for a new
12 acre park adjacent to the Bayfield
----Rtv-er-TIfe—citilp' had plans' for a nia
area, swimming pool and» play area.
After the Pet Parade there were
games of chance and a strardance'at
night).
1953 was the first year that our
Kinsmen Club conducted the
Christmai Toy Project in helping the
needy to a better Christmas. This else
was the year that our Minor Hockey
Program began.
1953-54 President: George Rumball
total of 40 boys participated in the

Car Bingo on May 14th. eave' away a
1954 'Plymouth, TV set, two special
games of $100.00'Held a local Talent
Show "You Can't Beat Pun" on June

The Clinton Kinsmen were deeply honored and surprised in May -of 1977 when
the founder of the Kinsmen Club in Canada, Hal Rogers, right, helped them
mark their 25th anniversary at the Vanastra Shillelagh. Chatting with Mr.

PROCLAMATION..
'WHEREAS -The Association of Kinsmen Clubs has been a -
vibrant, responsible, Canadian Association of Service
Clubs, devoted to the concept of voluntary service by
hundreds» of thousands of members ,dedicated to serving
their communities throughout Canada since its founding
in Hamilton, Ontario in 1920; and
WHEREAS The Association of Kinsmen Clubs has been
cogniiant, of the needs of our town and has diligently
sought the development and conduct of timely, relevant
programs to meet the needs and challenges of our con-
stantly changing society; and
WHEREAS The Association of Klinsmen Clubs are
celebrating their Diamond Anniversary on February 20.
1980; and
WHEREAS The Association of Kinsmen Clubs are officially
opening for the first time, their own Headquarters
Building in Cambridge, Ontario on February 23. 1980; and
NOW,. THEREFORE. 1 Harold Lob!), mayor of the town of
Clinton, feel that each citizen would welcome the op-
portunity to pause and reflect with pride the rich
heritage of accomplishment throughout tlie sixty years
Kinsmen Clubs have been in existence in Canada as a
result of their dedication -and determination in serving
their community's greatest » need; » do hereby declare
February 20, 1980 KINSMEN DAY and declare the week of
February 18 KINSMEN WEEK; and urge all citizens to
salute their local Kinsmen Club of Clinton.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have here unto set my hand and
caused the seal of the town of Clinton to be affixed this
14th day of February 1980.
