Here is just a partial list of the hundreds of projects Involving thousands of hours that the club's members have carried out over those 28 years. . 1952 7.- President: Trey, Ianson (from April until October) Donated a fracture frame to Clinton : Public Hospital. Presented to the • • tovvn*- six. large ,waste cans 'in the "Keep Clinton Clean" campaign. A1195243- President:- Gedtge Wreplaced Trey. in October 1952, • " Hold a monster Kinsmen Karnival on Labour Day. (The day began with a huge Pet Parade. All money that was raised was used to pay for a new 12 acre park adjacent to the Bayfield ----Rtv-er-TIfe—citilp' had plans' for a nia area, swimming pool and» play area. After the Pet Parade there were games of chance and a strardance'at night). 1953 was the first year that our Kinsmen Club conducted the Christmai Toy Project in helping the needy to a better Christmas. This else was the year that our Minor Hockey Program began. 1953-54 President: George Rumball total of 40 boys participated in the 11,1Mor Hockey Program, Held a big. 'WHEREAS -The Association of Kinsmen Clubs has been a - vibrant, responsible, Canadian Association of Service Clubs, devoted to the concept of voluntary service by hundreds» of thousands of members ,dedicated to serving their communities throughout Canada since its founding in Hamilton, Ontario in 1920; and WHEREAS The Association of Kinsmen Clubs has been cogniiant, of the needs of our town and has diligently sought the development and conduct of timely, relevant programs to meet the needs and challenges of our con- stantly changing society; and WHEREAS The Association of Klinsmen Clubs are celebrating their Diamond Anniversary on February 20. 1980; and WHEREAS The Association of Kinsmen Clubs are officially opening for the first time, their own Headquarters Building in Cambridge, Ontario on February 23. 1980; and NOW,.
