Margaret Lynn
A Bayfield resident,
Margaret Lynn died in
Clinton hospital on
February 4. She was • 73
years -old:
Mrs. Lynn was born to
William and Ellen
Howard in Toronto on
April 6, 1906. She lived in
Bayfield, Goderich, Owen
Sound, Toronto and
Detroit- and in 1924
married Kenneth G. Lynn
in Detroit.
Following their
marriage, the Lynes
lived in Toronto and
Bayfield, where she was
a member of the Trinity
Anglican Church and the
Ladies Guild.
Mrs. Lynn is survived
by her husbandand10
children, Noreen Ludlow
of Mississauga, Kenneth
and Howard of Detroit,
Bill -of Fort Erie, Bruce of
Toronto, Tom and Gordon
of Hillsburgh, Norman of
Toronto, Douglas of
Mississauga and Glenn of
-Calgary. She is also
survived by 23 grand-
children and five great
grandchildren.
Sheis predeceased by
her parents and survived
by two brothers, Harry
and Douglas of Detroit. '
Funeral services were
held on February 6 at the
Ball Funeral Home with
Rev. William Bennett in
f' charge. Interment
followed in the Clinton
cemetery.
W.B. IVIcAlpine
A long-time Clinton
resident W.B. "Hap"
McAlpine died suddenly
in his Queen Street home
on February's. He was 67
years old.
Mr. McAlpine was born
in London 'on -February
12, 1912 to Edwin and
Katherine McAlpine. He
served with the Royal

World War II and in 1942.
married Lauretta
Campbell in London.
In 1948, the couple
moved to' Clinton where
Mr. McAlpine had the
• International Harvester
dealership and owned a
service station. He was
also active in community
affairs in Clinton and was
a member of the Masonic
Lodge, the Royal
Canadian Legion and a
former member of the
Lions Club.
Mr. McAlpine is sur-
vived by his wife and one
son Cam of Mill Grove.
He is also survived by one
sister Ellayne McAlpine
of Clearwater, Florida
and is presdeceased by
his parents and one
brother Douglas. '
Funeral and commital
services were held at the
Beattie Funeral Home on
February 7. VIM`" Rev.
Norman Pick offficiating.
Interment followed at the
Nairn Cemetery in Nairn,
Ontario.
Alta -Lind Rodges
Alta -Lind E. Rodges of
136 Beech Street, Clinton
died -in Clinton hospital on
February 1. She was 77
years old.
Mrs. Rodges was._born
in Goderich Township on
September 4, 1902 to
Robert and Elizabeth
McCartney. .
Mrs. Rodges lived in
Clinton and was a
member of the Wesley -
Willis United Church.
She is predeceased by
her parents and survived
by one daughter, Mrs.
William- (Elizabeth)
Finley of Niagara Falls
on the Lake... -She is '.also
survived by five gran

services were held at the

and it was suggested that

Burkhart, co-ordinator
for Golden Age Travel
Service, Kitchener, to
invite her to' attend the
club's next meeting on
February 20, to discuss
toursavailable in early
spring.
'The social committee
for the evening was Nellie,.
Nott, Margaret Fremlin.,
Esther Kendall (absent)
and Mr. Rumball.
Ten games , of euchre
were played and there
were two tables of 500.
The high prizes for
euchre were won by Watt
Webster . and Vera Gib-
bings an. d the low prizes
were taken by Bessie
Steepe and Mary Wallis.
For 500 Hazel Parker was
the high scorer and Grace .
White had the low. hand.
The evening was con-
cluded with lunch.
