the Legion - Provincial
finals. There are eight
teams in the cham-
pionships who will play a,
round-robin tournament.

to dispense with a Vote
of the Electors
TAKE NOTICE THAT:
1. The Council of The Corporation'of the Township of
Goderich intends to apply to the Ontari 'Municipal
Board for approval of the purchase of 60 acres of land
on Lots 34 and 35 irr Concession' 12 of the Township of
Goderich to be used for a central gravel pit at an
estimated cost of $125,000.00 which amount shall be
raised by the sale of debentures payable out of the
general rate over•a period not exceeding five years.
2. Application will be made to the Ontario Municipal
Board. for an order to dispense with the assent of the
electors to the undertaking of the said purchase. Any
ratepayer may, within twenty -one -days after the first
;publication of this notice, serve 'personally or by
registered mail on the Clerk of the Township of
Goderich, at the address given - below, a notice in
writing stating his objection to such approval and the
grounds of such objection and that if a public hearing is
held,,he or his agent will attend such hearing 'to sup-
port such objectiiom e-
3. The Ontario Municipal Board may order pursuant
to the statute that the assent of the electors shall not be
required and may approve of the said purchase, but
before doing so it may. appoint a time and place for a
public hearing when any objections will be considered;
but notice of such hearing will be given only to those
persons who have given notice of objection as provided
for above.

Sailors tied for first spot
The Goderich Sailors
are having difficulty
shaking Lucknow in their
race for the division lead.
On Friday the Sailors.
jumped into the division
lead with a 6-4 win over
the Lancers in Goderich
but Lucknow defeated
Wellesley Sunday -to -keep
pace.
That leaves the teams
tied for first place in the
division which would be
decided in a game bet-
ween the tearns in
Lucknow Wednesday.
Here Friday the Sailors,
scored three times in the
final period in a ' 6-4
victory over the Lancers.
The game was -close

period and Luc now held
a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes
of play on a goal by pave

period and the Sailor's
outscored Lucknow 3-2 to
tie the game 3-3 after two
periods. Goderich took
advantage of Lancer

goals en rout to the 6-4
Dan Duncan led the
Sailors offensively
scoring twice in the
second period , and
assisting on a third period
goal by Ken Daer. Daer
was also productive of-
fensively scoring the
fourth Goderich goal and
assisting on two others.
