Eight ladies from the area attended the curling bonspiel held on Wed- nesday at the Seaforth Curling Club. A pot luck lunch will be held at Brucefield United Church on Sunday, January 27 after the morning church service, followed by the annual meeting. Confirmation classes will begin on February 3 at 2:30 p.m. in the Brucefield: church. The business portion was chaired by the newly- elected president, Mrs. Hazel McCartney. ,Mrs. Beatrice Stoll, newly elected secretary,: read the minutes. The roll call, Something Special about Christmas 1979 was answered by 14 mem- bers. Kippen WI 'entertain seniors By Rena Caldwell Entertain seniors - The Kippen East Women's' Institute en- tertained the senior citizens of Hensall on January 16 in the Legion Hall. Institute Grace was' sung and dinner was served at 12- 'noon. ' Hostesses for the day were Mrs. Vern Alder - dice . and Mrs. Robert Bell. Following dinner, Mrs. Robert Kinsman and Mrs., 'Al Hoggarth con- ducted the en- tertainment. Mrs. Kin- sman read three poems suitable to the occasion. Mrs. Ross. Broadfoot favoured with three piano selections. Mrs. Bertha McGregor thanked the _ In.atitute-v'n behalf of 'the" senior citizens. Possibly due tp illness and also to the fact that many seniors are._in Florida, there was'not as large a crowd although 13 tables of euchre were in play.
