Attendance at seminars is by choice,but most delegates take advantage of them. Brian's talk focused on Norman Panzica's seminar, "The Drug Scene in Perspective". Norm is a consultant to the Council' on 'Drug Abuse and to the Ontario Probation Service. He is currently fighting very hard against the go-vernme-n-t's plan to --- decriminalize marijuana. There are 60 known drugs ritarijuana,- - bum= the: effects of only a few are known. The drug THC is one of the main ones, and is known to stay in body fat for eight days, so even one reefer a week will cause a build-up. In Florida, about 85 percent of high school students smoke high- grade Columbian marijuana daily. This habit will lead to many birth defects in their children i.f they continue the -practise, along with physical and mental problems. More overall damage. is .done in this country by overuse of these drugs than from " hard drug usage. It was also noted that alcohol has "screwed up'; more lives than all of the other drugs together.
