Cars robbed
-Weekend thefts hit Clinton
Clinton Police reported
that,a smallrash of thefts
hit - town over the
weekend. Several cars,
were broken into -and tape
decks, speakers and: gas
'were stolen.
Aerials and mirrors
were broken off two
parked cars, gas ` was
syphoned out of a truck, a
tape deck was stolen
from one vehicle, a stereo
speaker was taken frons
one vehicle and a tape
deck and booster was -
taken from another. '
- `police are still in-
vestigating the incidents.
The Goderich OPP
reported that slippery
and slushy roads resulted
in several accidents over
the past week. -
On January 10, a car
driven by Catherine
—Fullerton, 22, -of-Paisley -
received $1,000 Jin
damages after the car
. she was driving on a
-Goderich Township road
slid in slush, wentirito the
ditch and rolled.. The
driver was uninjured.
On January 9, two pick
up trucks travelling on
Sideroad 25-26 of
Tuckersmith Township
struck head on after both
vehicles skidded:

her car, Jason Harrison,
5 and Angela Harrison, 3
received minor injuries.

Homestead burns
KINCARDINE - Damage
has been estimated at
$43,000 in a blaze that
gutted the • 85 -year-old
stone house of Aurel and
Marjorie Armst.'ong, of
RR 4, Kincardine.
The home, which was
built in 1894 from stones
picked off of the land,
burned to the ground
following strike by
lightning in a January 9
storm that battered, the
area.
The Armstrongs and
. their on Brent were able
to escape the blaze
unharmed. Mr. Arm-
strong said, "The ceiling
came in the room next W
us. There was window
glass all over the hall. It
was unreal, quite a way
to wake up."
The ' Kincardine Fire
Department was called to
the scene at 6:35 am and
relieved the Ripley Fire
Department ' who had
been fighting the blaze.
The Kincardine fire team
' remained at the home
until 4 pm and battled the
blaze through high winds,
driving snow and bitter
cold.
Five generations of the
Armstrong had lived on
the farad since 1892. •
Moore, -32, of RR 2,1.
Goderich received $600 in
damages following a•
January 8 accident. The
Moore car was travelling
on Concession 4 in
Colborne Township when
the driver went through
an intersection, applied
the brakes, went into the
ditch and struck a sign
post. The driver was
uninjured.
A car driven by Verda
Sinclair, 67, of Seaforth
received '$200 in damages
and a second vehicle
driven by Marian Rose,
44, of RR 4, Seaforth
received $400 in damages
when the two collided on
County Road 12 in
Tuckersmith Township.
The January 6 accident
occurred after the Sin-
clair vehcite, travelling
northbound- on the road
and the Rose vehicle,
backing out of a private
driveway collided. The
drivers and passengers
were uninjured.
