SCOUTS: The Scouts enjoyed a weekend camp
at the Fish and Game Club Reserve on the 5 and 6
of January. Part of the activities included target
• shooting on the rifle range under the guidance of
Don Jefferson: Several boys with' the com-
bination of proficiency on the range and in ,the
written test have earned a .gun:Handling crest.
Scott Beane was the high 'scorer on the com-
bination scoring of .test and target range.
This camp helped prepare the Scouts for the
Owen Sound Winter Camp on 25 and 26 of
January, even though the weather did not co
operate by- providing snow. The 'boys did get a
chance to experience coldweather camping and
realize the strengths and -or weaknesses of their
clothing and equipment. This will enable them to
"Be Prepared" for future winter camps.
A special thanks to Don Jefferson for his•time
and assistance and also to Allan Parks for .his
help at the camp.
Scout work for the next couple of weeks will
consist of review ofskills for the Owen Sound
Camp, introduction to toboggan lashing and
harnesses.; also the continuation of the religion
and life program, which started this week under
the guidance of Rev,. `John Oestreicher.
