There were many strange looking animals on the stage at

Through the sky Santa flew,
Bringing gifts for me and you,
He passed a star twinkling bright,
And he kept on going through the night.
In front of the sleigh nine reindeer stood,
And they pulled that sleigh as fast as they could.
They landed carefully on every roof,
Being sure that They walked on the tip of each
hoof..
Down each chimney and through"each house,
Santa crept as quiet as a mouse.
At one o'clock it started snowing,
But lovable Santa kept on going.
He had to deliver each and every gift,
Or kids would think he was just a myth.
So he told Rudolph (who was in the lead]
hat they would have to gain some speed.
So Rudolph withhis nose so red, -
junior grades. Here the Grade 2B. class had painstakingly
made animal masks for their skit, The Animals
Christmas. (News -Record photo)
Nodded his head and away they sped.
At six o'clock they saw the sun,
And before they knew it they were done.
And do you know what they did before they went
home?
Well, up in the sky they wrote this poem,
"We leave with you some Christmas cheer,
And we'll be back again next year."

There was once a boy
from Alberquerque, and
his name was Pete. He
was the naughtiest boy
you probably will ever
see. On Monday he put a
tack on the teachers
chair, on Tuesday,,he tied
a knot in Susie's hair. On
Wednesday he climbed a
tree and tore his pants;
and on Thursday, he
filled the sugar bowl with
ants. WHAT NEXT?
Well, on Friday, he did
the whole procedure over
again. He . wasn't ex-
pecting it but he got sent
down to the office! Well,
he didn't like that. But he
kept doing things that got
naughtier annaughtier
every day! Finally, his
mother said to Pete,
Chrismas.is . .

People think Christmas
is a time for fun and
parties. But what it
means, to me -As. when
Jesus Christ was born in
Bethlehem.
Angels came and told
the shepherds to follow
the brightest star in the
sky. If they did they
would find a babe
wrapped in linen cloth
lying in a manger beside
the manger in a stable
would be the mother
Mary and the father
Joseph.
As he grew older 'he
became more faithful in
God. He knew why he had
come to earth for God
told Jesus that he would
die for his people's sins.
So be more loving at
Christmas time, ,when
you .have `tizn ithink bout
the babe that •'was born in
Bethlehem.
"You better start being
good for a change or
Santa Claus won't come
to our house for
Christmas:"
"Oh, oh! Pete had
forgot that Christmas
was so close. It was
already the 15th. Boy, he
better start behaving or
he wouldn't get anything
in his stocking. Well
finally it ' was Christmas
Eve, so Pete hung up his
stocking. He thought he
had been pretty good
during the last few
weeks, but he hadn't.
The next morning, Pete
got up at 6:00 and ran
down the stairs to see
what he got. He could see
some bumps in his
stocking so he reached in.
Pete felt three things so
he picked them out one by
one eventhough they
didn't feel to good. The
first one was potatoe, the
second was a rotton
pumpkin, and third, two
rotton eggs thatsmelt to
high heaven.
So what the moral of
the story is - "You better
watch out, you better not
cry, you better not pout
I'm telling you why,
Santa Claus is coming to
town!"
What's Christmas?
By Danny Horton,
Huron Centennial.
Ci\ristmas is coming
but we don't no what to
do. -
We decorated the tree
and it looked like brand
new.
Presents were
gathered and put under
the tree;
There was gifts 'for you
and me.
It was Christmas eve
and Santa had came.
We were happy with
our presents that he had
brought.
Now Christmas is all
over and done and
everyone has had there
fun.

Twas the night before Christmas and all through
the kitchen,
Not a creature was stirring nor scratching nor
itchen.
The stockings were hung up by rabbit snares.
And the -whole of our family was snorin upstairs.
With me and my wife all snuggled in the sheets,
had just came from the bathroom after taking
out our teeth.
I rose my head, and what did I hear
A minuture sleigh and 8 tiny reindeer.
With a jolly old tub so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be Saint Nick.
I heard him again and I very much eiuote. "On
Dasher, on Dancer, on Prancer and Vixen, on
Comet;lon Cupid, on Donner and Blitzen". "Now
land on that roof, or it's straight to the super-
market full sale on the hoof."
I heard him again, this time the last,
"Merry Christmas to all I have to get home if
not, i'll fast.

To have fun. Getting all
of your family together
and opening "gifts. Then
there is your dog who
likes to play in the
Christmas wrappings
from all of the presents.
Not all life is jolly for Santa Claus as the Grade 4 class at Hullett Central School
showed. For their part in the school's Christmas concert the class presented a
play .on the kidnapping of Santa. (News -Record photo)

There is this little boy
at school one day. Who
asked the teacher "what
is Christmas" "what does
it mean?" The teacher
knew what Christmas
meant and so did
everyone else . in the
class. So she said I know
what Christmas means.
but I think your
classmates know it better
than 1 do. Johnny, What
does Christmas mean to
you? Oh! Getting 'a new
red fire truck.
How about you Mar-
tha?. Going to Grand-
ma's. How about the rest
of the class what's your
point of view, turkey,
presents, having fun in
the snow, getting
together with family and
friends and cousins. So
now what do you think
Christmas is?
Another thing I like
about Christmas is the
candy that gives you all
the cavities and the
turkey and cranberry
sause and gravey. Then
not being able to wait till
Boxing Day to go outside
and go skiing or go tob-
boganing with your new
skis or new tobbogan.
1 can remember back
when I wouldn't sleep
hardly all night because
you Can't wait to go
downstairs and see what
Santa brdught me. Now I
am older and see why my
newpews and nieces don't
sleep all night and then
they are up at five -thirty
or so and quietly sneak
downstairs and see what
they were given. That's
what Christmas means to
me having fun, lots of fun.
