The Kindergarten class at Vanastra Public School
performed a medley of songs at the Christmas
concert on Tuesday night however at dress
reAearsal on Monday at least two or the• children
seemed to be suffering from first time stage fright.

Mary Hearn entertains at Huronview
Many residents have
expressed their pleasure
after Thursday evening
when Mary Hearn, leader,
of the Wesley -Willis
Church choir, played her
harp, and the men's
orchestra provided a
much enjoyed concert for
family night,
Friday afternoon was
spent playing bingo in the
auditorium,. and Dr. Toll
from Seaforth presented
a concert Sunday af-
ternoon. The residents
again enjoyed the brass
band.
Marie Flynn en-
tertained at Old Tyme
Music on Monday, and
was accompanied by Ken
Dale, and Lorne Lawson.
The van 'took a load of
Christmas shoppers to
Goderich mall on
Tuesday afternoon. Mary
Van Camp, Iris Sparling,
Frank Bissett and Eber
Lewis were among the
eager shoppers.
The Goderich Women's
Institute celebrated all
birthdays in December.
Allan and Jean Schram
started the program off
with some lively Old
Tyme Music. Mrs. Joy
Harrison was the soloist
accompanied by Mrs.
Gordon Taylor at the
piano. A humorous
musical skit about the
husbands of the women's
institute entertained the
residents. A portion of the
afternoon program was
set aside for the singing
of Christmas carols.
Following the program, a
treat of tea and cookies
was, served by the.
Institute members.
Happy Birthday was
sung at the closing after
each resident received a
birthday gift. In pal --
Ocular, we would like to
wish Mary Turner, who is
our: oldest resident, a
very happy birthday.
Mary turned 103 this past
Tuesday.
Day Care showed the
movie "The Slipper & the
Rose", in the auditorium
Magic Circle
Sixteen members of the
Magic Circle UCW unit of
the Wesley -Willis Church
met on‘December 11 for a
Christmas meeting.
Leader Jean Currie
took charge of the
meeting and a letter was
received from the 'Home
Economist, thanking the
unit fot their work and
requesting lunch on
January. 11 and 12 for 4-1-1
Club leaders.
The ladies were
reminded that the UCW
Christmas party was to
be held on December 19.
President Kay Wise asled
each member to invite
one lady in the
congregation to the
special party.
Mrs. Cole read the
treasurer's report which
showed that $1,322.48 had
been raised by the group.
Bessie Steepe,
Florence Oliver and
Mary Murch chose a
Christmas theme for the
devotional and hymns
were sung. After the close
of the meeting Mrs.
Murch conducted some
games and samples of
everyone's Christmas.

special Christmas
program in the chapel on
Thursday afternoon.
We would like to make
special mention of the
excellent job done by the
girls in the housekeeping
department who put up
decorations throughout
the home. The Christmas
trees and garlands look
exceptionally pice this
year.
Sympathy is expressed
to the, family of Mrs.
Mary Muir, whb passed
away this past week.
Huronview would like
to welcome Mr. Russell
G. Neal, who is a new
resident from Clinton.

It was easy to achieve a
Christmas .mood for the
December 11 meeting of
Beta Sigma Phi as 11
members and seven
guests answered the roll
call question, "What
would you like for
Christmas?"
The festive theme

Christmas fraditions and
celebra`fions in Eastern
Europe. A truly in-
ternational Christmas
smorgasbord was en-
loyed by everyone, the
meal including pot luck
favourites from India to
America.
The results of our ways

excitedly awaited and are
as follows: dinner for two
at Benmiller .Inn won by
Cila Adams; tropical
plant from , Cooke's
Florists, Mari. Willis;

Old Kill, Jack Yeo.
