home on Saturday.,

employees of Hensall,
Mitchell arid Granton to a
Christmas party in the
He4sall Arena4 on
Saturday evening. The
Ladies' Legion Auxiliary
provided, the dinner and
dancing was. enjoyed to
music% by the Country
Gentlemen.
The cancer, pqlio and
tuberculosis members of
the IOOF and Amber
Rebekah lodges delivered
treats to shut-ins- . at
Queensway Nursing Blue
Water Rest Home,
Zurich, Huronview,
Clinton and some local
members this week.
Tom Kelly, .ad-
ministration manager at
the local Bank of Mon-
treal, left last week fora
holiday with relatives
and friends in Nova
Scotia.
Mr. Brad Sangstar,
who was a patient in
South Huron Hospital,
Exeter, reAturned home
last week.
Mrs. , Don Luther,
Raechel, and Adam of St.
Johns, Newfoundland
visited last week with the
former's father-in-law
•and mother-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Eric Luther.
Mrs. Sarah Simpson is
a patient in South Huron
Hospital where she is
receiving tratment.

Ladies' "Money Doll':
will, be made on Frida-y,
December 21st.
Mrs. Hazel Luther
returned home last week
after visiting with her
granddaughter and
grandson -in-law Mr. and
Mrs. Jeff Raeburn at
Coronation, Alberta.
The Hensall Kinettes
entertained the K-40 club
to dinner ,at the Burkely
Restaurant, Exeter on
Wednesday evening,
followed by a social time
at the home of Mrs. Steve
Knight. Bags of candies.
were packed for the
"Free Skating” spon-
sored at the Arena
Sunday afternoon, .by the
Kinettes, when Santa
Claus arrived and treated
the children.
The Hensall and
District Kinsmen Club
sponsored a ' "Senior
Citizens Night" again this
year at the Hensall
Public School on Tuesday
evening at' 7:30. p.m,
Films and entertainment
were much enjoyed by all
and a social time was had
when lunch was served.

Rev. ,Kenneth Knight
conducted worship in
Carmel Presbyterian
church when the Mem-
bers of the Sabbath
School took part in the
service, Miss Sandra
Wad.el favoured with,
selections on her ac-
cordion "0 Holy Night"
and "Star of the East".
Three Sunday School
members took part in the
candle -lighting
ceremony. "Silent Night"
was sung after which a
quartet*: sang "Happy
Birthday Jesus"
"Christmas," was por-
trayed by the Sunday
School followed by
recitation by a trio,David
Shea gave a reading
folloiVed by "On
Christmas Day" and
"Away In A Manger" by
the Sunday School
members.
Rev. Knight spoke to
the class on "The
International Year of the
Child.',' The Church was
beautifully decorated by
the members of the
'Arnold circle ievelling
auxiliary. Rev. Knight
gave an interesting
message on "God's
Greatest Gift". Mrs.
Robert Taylpr ac-
companied at the organ
throughout the service.
Choir practice f; was
Wednesday evening at
7:30 p.th A joint choir
service will be held in
Cromarty Presbyterian
Church on Stinday night,
December 23rd at 7:30
plm. Everyone is
welcome.

Kippen UCW met in St.
Andrew's Church
Tuesday, December 11.
The meeting began with a
delicious pot luck dinner
given by the losing side in
the attendance contest.
Business of the meeting
revealed that Mrs. Lloyd
Cooper and Mrs, Edison
McLean had delivered
the shut-in boxes, that $20
had been donated to the
Leprosy Mission, 'and
that. Arc Industries
needed more volunteers
was reported by Mrs.
Keith Lovell.
., Mrs. D.E. .Ayle, the
Outgoing president,
'thanked everyone for the
co-operation she had
received during her term
of office. Mrs. Keith Love
gave courtesy remarks.
Mrs. John Cooper and
Mrs. John Anderson were
the hostesses.
During the. program,
Heather McLean con-
tributed a poem she ha'd'
composed, . and Mrs.
Edison McLean and
daughter Heather gave
an inspiring Christmas
skit. The devotion was a
candlelightin'g service
conducted by Mrs. David
Turner.

Former resident passes
Floyd Nelson Smith,
formerly of Hensall,
passed away at Flushing,
Michigan on Saturday
December 15th in his 72nd
year. He was a son of the
late Mr. and Mtg. Alex
Smith of Hensall. He was
the husband of Muriel
(Hurst) Smith and is
survived by son David of
Massillon, Ohio;
daughter Mrs. David
Krueger (Sharon) of
Flushing, Mich.; sister
Mrs. \ M.B. Parker,
London, and Eldrid,
London.
He was predeceased by
three sisters, Mrs. John
Craig (Ida), Mrs. Alex
Smith (Laura) 'Blyth,
Ontario, and Mrs. D.
McPherson (Lena),
Portland, Oregon and
three brothers Dr.. David
T. of Onrer, Mich.,
William of Pangman
Sask. and J. Alexander of
Fort Benton, Montana.
Funeral service was
held from the Rosell
_Funeral Chapel Flushing,
Mich,, on Monday
December 17th and in-
terment was in Flushing
Cemetery.
