Mr. and Mrs. William Shillinglaw of Baldwin 1980 licences now on sale Renewalstickers for motor vehicle licences went on sale Saturday, December 1 throughout Ontario, Minister of Transportation and Communications James_ Snow said recently. . There are no increases , in 1980 ' motor vehicle licence ' fees which remain at $30 for a four- cyclinder car, $45 for a six and $60 for an eight with an engine displacement of 'less than 6.5 litres. Owners of eight -cylinder .cars with an engine displacement of more than 6.5 litres, registered after Dec. 1, 1977, will pay $80. 1980 stickers will be blue and white in colour. For the first time, trailer owners will pay a one-time fee of '$25, good for the life of the vehicle. They will also receive reflectorized plates. ' Motorcycle registration fees remain at $20. Registration . fees for privately -owned passenger cars and motorcycles in the northern half of the province will continue to be $10. For vehicle registration purposes, "northern Ontario" consists of the territorial districts of Algonia, Cochrane; Kenora, Manitoulin, Parry Sound, Rainy River, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Timiskam ing and the portion of Nipissing lying north and west of Algonquin Park. The 1980 registration fee for mopeds .remains at $5, the fee for snowmobiles and' historic vehicles $10, anywhere in Ontario. The presentation of the Sharing of the Gifts of God was conducted by Scott Millar. A loaf of bread was the first gift for food arid the second gift was a candle to represent the light. The third gift was a trumpet to represent joy and the fourth was a balloon to show the air: All these gifts are received from God everyday. After each gift, Cheryl Lyon and Bill Jewitt gave readings. All the children presented their gifts, while the offering was received. There were special. envelopes. for Mission and Funds. The presentation was made by Worshipful Brother Rollings, who was initiated with Brother Bruce Shillinglaw on the same night by Very Worshipful William Shillinglaw: After the meeting, the brethern returned to the London visitor Mr. Vandergust was at the school and visited several teachers to talk to them about classes ' for students who have learning problems. Mr. Vandergust is with the London Board of Education. He will be visiting several other schools in this area. Health Nurses On November 26, the health nurses came and checked pupils' eyes and ears. This was done for the children's benefit. William Leeming on the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority, Arthur Anderson on the Ausable- Bayfield Conservation Authority; Deputy reeve Harvey Craig on Blyth fire- area board and Reeve Allan Campbell on Seaforth fire area board. Council accepted the Seaforth fire area agreement as prepared ;•R -• by the officials from the five municipalities which form the membership of the Seaforth fire area board. They are the Townships of McKillop, Tuckersmith, Hullett and Hibbert and the Town of Seaforth. (News -Record photo) County okays increases Huron County Council approved 10 percent increases in their com- mittee and session pay and the warden's honorarium at ' their meeting, November 29. The warden's honorarium will be in- creased to $3,300. from $3,000 County council members' will receive $55. per day or $35. per half day for . attending committee meetings and sessions of Huron County Council, - A car allowance of $60 pais 11 cents per kilometre or alternately 14' cents per kilometre was approved. The Nash drain was 76.6 percent of original cost of $8,400, compared to tender price of $6,443,25. The Buchanan drain was 88.98 percent of original cost of $1,635, compared to tender cost of $1454. Approved was a tile drain loan application of $9,700. Council approved payment of annual grant of $650 to McKillop Federation of Agriculture for 1980 grant, and a grant of $25 to the War Memorial Children's Hospital, London.
