A Bayfield man took
home two ounces of gold
worth $1,000, and minor
sports in Clinton be richer
by over $3;000, thanks to
the Clinton Kinsmen's
Gold Fever night, last
Friday night.
John McIntyre of the
Sugar Bush Inn of
Bayfield was the big
winner of the two, one-
ounce wafers of gold
which are increasing in
value every day, while
the $3,000 profit ,realized
by the Kinsmen was the
biggest ever.
Twenty other poeple
were also winners of $25
each and include Frank

Chimney fire
in Varna home

Dave and Bonnie Roy
had an ..anxious few
minutes on Sunday
morning when they had a
fire in the pipes over the
Franklin fireplace. By
removing the wood from
the stove and cutting off
all air they had it under
control before the fire
trucks arrived.
Dave spoke highly of
the fire department from
Brucefield which arrived
very quickly and stayed
until they were sure there
was no fire in the wall.
Lori Consitt is Making
excellent progress in
figure skating, and
passed her Willow Dance
for her Junior Bronze
medal in Stratford a week
ago Sunday.
Doug Roy passed his
intermediate led Cross
tests in swimming
recently, and his sister
Laura passed her Junior'
