Recreation Centre was a

1, as the youth groups of
Vanastra held their
second annual Christmas
Bazaar. The • Lioness
Kiddies Corner was kept

Nursery school held
their draw on a Tonka
truck full of nickels ($14
worth). Mr. Tim Mum-
mings was the winner of
the nickels. There was

• Participation in the
Tuesday Come Aiive Club
has practically doubled
with an average of 60
children attending each
week. But, says the co-
ordinator Willy Van Dorp
there is still room for
more.
On Tuesday December
18, there will be no
regular Come Alive Club
but 0, special Christmas
program will be held on
Dec. 20 and parents are
invited to attend:
Every Sunday at 7:30'
p.m. starting Dec. 9 in the
Church annex, Rev.
Mantel plans to hold
fellowship evening for
married couples and
single adults. So please
feel free to attend.
Starting Sunday Dec.
23 and every fourth
Sunday in the month,
Rev. Mantel will be
holding a service at
Heather Gardens at 3:30
p.m. so that the patients
there may enjoy
benefits of Sunday
worships.
On Dec. 24 at 8 p.m.
there will be a special
candlelight service at the
church and again on Dec.
31 at 8 p.m. there will be a
special New Year's Eve
service which will also
include a film.

The float will be going
to Goderich this Saturday

Brownie, Cub, Guide and
Scout float.

District Lioness Club are
holding a dinner meeting
Thursday Dec. 6.
Members are reminded
to bring their gifts. The
meeting is called for 7
p.m. in the Recreation
Centre.

will be the last meeting
for the Vanastra Scouts
for 1979. The meetings
will resume on Jan. 7,
1980 at 7 p.m. in the
Vanastra Christian
Church.

Helpful Hints
To remove salt stains
on leather boots use equal
parts vinegar and water
and rub on the spot.
Children can make
their -own Christmas
cards by tracing the
outline of their hands on
red or green construction
paper. After they cut the
.hands out, have them
decorate them.
Fasten Christmas tree
lights to the tree with
wire twisters used as
bread wrappers.
For a variety in your
oatmeal cereal add to it 1
tsp. cinnamon, 1/4 tsp.
nutmeg and 1/2 cup
raisins. Stir spices and
raisins into salted boiling
•water just before adding
oatmeal; then add oat-
meal and cook as usual.
Delicious served with
cream and brown sugar.
Grape Salad
Supreme
,2,..„4 oz. pkgs. Philadelpfna
cream cheese 0
2 tbsp. mayonnaise
2 tbsp. pineapple syrup
1 can pineapple tidbits
(21/2 cups drained)
'2 4 marShmallows
quartered
1 cup heavy cream,
whipped
2 cups grapes seeded and
halved
Combine cheese,
mayonnaise and
pineapple 'syrup. Add
marshmallows and
tidbits. Fold in whipped
cream and grapes. ' If
desired add V2 cup.
mandarin oranges
drained or 8 red cherries
sliced.
Nut Salad.
2 cups chopped nuts
2 cups sour apples
3 cups diced celery
Mix all together and
add your favourite salad
dressing. Sprinkle lightly
with paprika.

Shelley Kyle, 6, discussed the possibilites of winning the prize, sponsored by
the Vanastra Nursery School and how they would spend those shiny new coins.
