Heat wanted
by300in
Kincardine
KINCARDINE - A
petition, signed by 300
people, has prompted the
Kincardine recreation
board to pass a motion
instructing the arena
manager to look into
turning the heaters on in
the facility's spectators'
gallery.
The motion asked the
arena manager and the
recreation director to
look into cutting down
heating in other parts of
the building to `offset the
return of heat to the
spectators' gallery."
The petition, asking for
the ' motion, had been
posted in the arena.
Marilyn Richter, , who
submitted it, suggested to
the rec board that hall
and dressing room
temperatures be lowered:,
"to save electricity there,
then give it to us for
hockey games."
She also said, "Quite .a
few people are not
coming out to games,
both old and young,"
because of the lack of
heat.
After Mrs. Richter left
the meeting, board
member John Gates, a
high+ ,school teacher,
noted that half , the
petition had been signed
by high school . students
and he claimed, "they'll
sign anything."
