meetings were held after
the regular service in
Varna and Aoshen
churches on Sunday to
discuss ways of assisting
with therefugee problem
in South-east Asia. Each
member was given a
ballot to indicate his or
her preference as to
whether we should bring
a family here or help in
sore other way.
The majority favored,
bringing a family, so The
Official Board will' now,
work on details of how the'
wishes of the
congregation can be
carried out.
• In other church news, it
was announced that the
annual White Gift service
will be held on December
9, and the Sunday School
concert will be in the
township hall on
December 16. Please
save your bottles for the
new Youth Group's bottle
drive on Saturday, Dec. 8.
Seniors Christmas
Party
The annual Christmas
Party for senior citizens
will be held next Wed-
nesday afternoon,
December 5 at 2 PM at
the hall in Varna. This
party is arranged by the
Township Recreation
Commission, and all
seniors in the township
and area are invited to
come for an afternoon of
fun and cards. Lunch will
be served following the
games.
Miss Darlene Hayter is
nursing in the hospital in
Fort McMurray, the big
oil exploration boom,
town. Others from the
area who are up there are
Larry Wright of Kippen,
Joan Forrest of Hensall,
and a girl from Zurich.

On November 21 the
Varna and Goshen CGIT
held their first meeting at

were held.

It was decided to make

for the churches. Some
games were played, a
worship service was held,
and the meeting closed in
prayer.-

given by the 15 members
were most interesting, ,
Linda Jones read her
financial report.
The members voted to
give $25 to the Children's
Aid Society for their
'Christmas spending. A
report was given 'on the
Indoor Gardening and
plans were made to hold
'the first meeting the next
week.
Linda Jones will hold

ladies" are .in charge of
the - lunch while the

provide the program. The
