Mrs. Campbell Eyre reported the purchase of a gift for the Queensway Nursing Home. Mrs. Al Hoggarth reported on the Fall Board meeting, and Kippen East will host the District Annual in 1980. Mrs, Triebner con- tribfited a poem and chaired the meeting. Mrs. Drummond also gave a reading. Lunch was served by the hostess- and the co - hostess Mrs. Stewart Pepper. Personals Mr. and Mrs. Ken Jones, Jeremy and Meagan of Hillier, Ont. were weekend guests with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Cooper and family, Detroit, Mich., spent. the American Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. Vivan Cooper. John Anderson has returned home from hospital, but will shortly re-enter hospital for surgery on his shoulder. Kippen East Women's Institute will hold their Family Night Turkey -Banquet in Hensall United Church Fellowship Hall on Nov. 30 at 6:30p.m. Classes set for ec$,, LISTOWEL - Language classes for adult refugees from Southeast Asia are being held in Listowel. The decision to hold the classes for those over 17 years of age came after a special meeting between the refugee sponsors and Canada Manpower of- ficials. In addition to learning the English language, refugees will receive basic information about 'Canadian cultural pat- terns such as banking. Classes .are being held in the Trinity United Church from 8:30 am to 9:30 pm, Mondays to Fridays. They are being conducted by an in- structor from Conestoga College in Kitchener. Man charged WINGHAM - A Kitchener man has. been charged with rape following a complaint placed by a 15 - year -old Gorrie girl. Sgt. Roy Anderson of the Wingham OPP reported the complaint *as made on November 17. Subsequently Donald Allan Scott, 23, of Kit- chener, was arrested and charged. Following an ap- pearance before a justice of. the peace Mr. Scott was released on his own recognizance pending an ' appearance at provincial court in Wingham • on December 12.
