Tenders for the' CM-
struction of the Yeo?

drain were received by
Goderich Township
Council when it met in
regular session on
November 5. Council
accepted the tender of
Robinson at $5,124.
Council also received
two applications for snow
plough operators. It was
decided that Terry porter
be hired at the same
salary as the other full-
time man.
Ian DesLauriers of the
Maitland Valley Con-
servation Authority was
present at the council
meeting to explain th
costs of the McGuffin
Gully Erosion project.
A land severance was
requested by William
Armstrong and G.
Colclough. Council
decided to deal with the
application for severance
as per questionaire.
Council ,decided to
support a resolution from
Woolwich Township
regarding assessment
legislation.
Coucnil also decided to
accept the Ministry of
Housing's annual
statement as revised.
By-law number 18,
1979, a by-law to approve
of the Storey Subdivision
zoning, was given three
rpadings and passed by
council. A sub -dividers
agreement regarding this
subdivision was approved
by council too.
By-law number 19,
1979, a by-law to provide
for the zoning of Zehr's
supermarket, was also
given three readings and
passed.
• Building permits were
issued by council -to Peter
Ancich (cottage); Fred
Van Maar (to demolish a,
porch and build a porch);
Ken Weber (tool shed and
green house); • and 14.
Morgan (storage shed,
and three mobile homes).
An ' application for a
building permit from E.
Westhoff for a mobile
home was held until the
approval of the Huron
County Health Unit.
Nick Hill presented a
proposed spot zoning by-
law to council to rezone
part lot 39, concession 9.
Council rejected this spot
zoning.
Council passed a
motion to proceed with
the necessary legislation
to purchase 60 acres from
lots 34 and 35, concession
12 from L. Montgomery
for a gravel pit.
Council passed a
motion that the township
engage Business Com-
puter Services to print
tax notices.
Council ordered ac-
counts totalling more
than $100,000 to be paid.
Huron County taxes • of
$55,828.49 and the Road
Superintendant pay roll
of $24,860.65 were in-
cluded in this total.
Council then adjourned
until November 19.
4ddition at
theatre, begins
BLYTH - The first sod
was turned last week on
the new addition to the
Blyth Memorial Hall,
which houses the popular
Blyth Summer Festival.
Reeve Don Noble,
Legion member Henry
Pattison, and Blyth
Centre for the Arts
representative Helen
-Gowing shovelled out the
first soil for the 4,000
square foot addition
which will house space
for a new box pffice,
administration offices,
dressing rooms, work
shops, storage space for
sets and costumes, and a
community craft room.
As well, the 48,0 -seat
theatre will be updated
with a• ramp and
washrooms for the
handicapped.
The $200,000 addition,
being built by Wayne
Stable Construction of
Kitchener is scheduled to
be completed by IVIarchof
