The dedication of the memorial doors and a prayer for benefactors at the doors at ;the entrance of the church by Rev. Wm. Bennett. The lesson was read by Rev. G. Youmatoff. . The Reverend Canon F.H. Paull gave The sermon, "for our citizenship is in Heaven". Receiving the . offering were Ray Wise and Jim Middleton. Following the service, coffee hour was held where everyone enjoyed a social hour. vPersonals Mrs. Audrey Middleton held a dinner party on Sunday with guests being Ken and Pat Taylor of Blyth, Mrs. Fred Mid- dleton, Mrs. Jervis and Kelvin Jervis. We of St. James are pleased to hear Mr. Bert Rowden is home again. Also Mrs. Margaret (Fred) Hudie is out of the hospital. John Deeves attended Synod on Saturday in London with Rev. Wm. Bennett and Mrs. Fellow of Bayfield. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Dutot and Ivan of London spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Dutot. Good to hear little Tessa Steenstra is home from the hospital. The congregation of St. Jams Middleton wishes to thank Trinity Church Bayfield for their con- tributions of linens for our use. Mrs. Elwin McCullough attended the McKenzie wedding and reception at the Clinton Legion Hall on Saturday. Mrs. Fred Middleton has returned after spending a week with her daughter and family, Mr.. and Mrs. Grindley of London. Brucefield. UCW meet ,By Jean Taylor Unit 3 of Brucefield United Church completed their year with a family night,l beginning with a bounteous pot -luck din- ner. A short business meeting was conducted by President Eileen Townsend. Everyone was reminded to bring their "goodies" for the shut-ins wrapped in saran to the Christmas meeting and dinner. And also bring a sheet of Christmas wrapping paper. Vice president Evelyn Falconer thanked Eileen for the fine work she has done as president and presented her with a gift. Fun night An evening of fun and crokinole was conducted by Jean Rathwell, Myrtle. Taylor and Barb Van Den Necker. Prizes were given to: travelling bull eye, Jeff Walters; men most points, Don Taylor;. least points, Ben Rath - well ; ath=well; ladies' most points, Norma McGregor; ladies' least points, Kathy Rathwell; most 20's, Danny McGregor; lucky chair, Scott Townsend. _ Personals Mr. and Mrs. Bill Pepper have left for a winter vacation in Florida. Mrs. EdnEI Patterson is in St. Joseph's hospital London, and making good progress. She hopes to be home by the weekend. • Mr. and Mrs. Elliott Layton are holidaying in Florida. Mrs. Mary Haugh is a patient in Seaforth hospital. We wish her a speedy recovery. The Stanley curling club is back on the ice again this winter at Vanastra Curling Arena, with a full ice.
