Mr. and Mrs. Carl Eichholz and family and Mrs. Bonnie Armour and Julie of Waterloo visited last Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jardin. Mr. and Mrs. George Robb, Heather and Michael of London visited on Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Sanderson. TRUSTEE BOARD The November meeting of the Auburn Trustee Board was held last Saturday evening in the town hall with chairman, Warner Andrews, in charge. The minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as read by the clerk, Mrs. Arva Machan. A card of thanks A advocate was read from be family of the late William Craig. No decisions were reached. .The December meeting will be the Rnd of the year and the year's reports will be given. • OBITUARY Funeral services were held on November 6 for Charles Beadle who died in Victoria Hospital South Street Campus, London in his 71st year on November 3. Born in West Wawanosh, he was the youngest son of the late Charles Beadle and Susannah Johnston. His birthdate was August 10, 1909. He attended U.S.S. No. 5 Hullett and operated the Auburn Hotel for a time. He served in World War II in the Canadian Army and then worked in Victoria Hospital in the splint department for 25 years. He retired a few years ago and took up residence in his home on Loftus Street. He was a member of St. Mark's Anglican Church. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Earl (Ellen) Al4son of Goderich, several nieces and nephews and two brothers,Henry Thomas (Harry) Beadle and Harold Maitland Beadle. The Reverend G.L. 'Royal gonducted the funeral service at the Stiles Funeral -Home with burial taking place in Ball's Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gordon Beadle, Gordon Miller, Arthur Youngblut, Thomas Jardin, Thomas Johnston and James Glousher. LIONS CLUB • The Auburn and District Lions Club met last Wednesday evening in the Community Memorial Hall.- Dinner was served by .the Presbyterian W.M.S. group. There , were 16 present. President, Lion Bill Robertson, was in charge of the meeting. (News -Record photo) • is Kippen WI mark 45 years By Rena Caldwell Kippen East Women's Institute celebrated their 45th Anniversary in Brucefield United Church Nov. 8 with about 140 guests from all the branches of outh Huron District Women's Institute. Celebrations began with dinner, at 6:30 p.m. with Mrs. Dave Triebner, president chaired the program and had the assistance of the first president of Kippen East, Mrs. Stirling Graham, Cromarty, in cutting the cake. The program consisted, of a contest conducted by Mrs. Vern Gas leak WINGHAM - A Bluevale family had a narrow escape last weekend when 300 gallonsof gasoline leaking from a neighbor's underground storage tank turned their home into a potential bomb. No one was injured in the incident as by some miracle the gas fumes ,never ignited, but the clean up involved the removal of tons of gasoline -saturated earth from around the house. Meeting closed with God Save the Queen. -UCW UCW of St. Andrews Church Kippen met on Nov. 6 Mrs. Keith Lovell gave the worship taken from "The Prodigal Son" Mrs. D.E. Kyle chaired the \ meeting and read "Lest 'we forget" Mrs. Orville Workman gave the topic on the history of Kippen. During the business, plans for the fo‘‘ I supper on Noveniber 14 in Brucefield Church were finalized. It was decided to send $30 to Compassion to -help with clothing for a child at Christmas.
