Thanks for your participation
We were just overwhelmed. Your response to our
request for recipes for this cookbook was so
tremendous we are unable to publish them all here.
But don't despair. Every recipe yoµ sent to us will be
published.
The Goderich Signal -Star will be carrying these
recipes in a series between now and Christmas. Watch
for them.
The Lucknow Sentinel will carry them in the special
Christmas edition.
The Clinton News -Record will publish a series of
these recipes in editions until Christmas.
All recipes submitted, those included in this cook-
book and those to be printed later, will be judged.
Winners will be notified just before Christmas.
Judges for the contest will be Mrs. Rita Powell,
Clinton, a baking champion from the Clinton Spring
Fair; Mrs.,June Gilchrist, Lucknow, a home
economics tacher and a champion cook in her own
right; Mrs. Jan Bernard and Mrs. Bev Zoethout, home
economics teachers at Goderich District Collegiate
Institute; Mrs.. Jan Ainslee and Miss Pat Senn,home
economics teachers.• at Central Huron Secondary
School in Clinton; and Miss Grace Bird and Miss
Brenda Kisyk, home economists with the Ontario
Department of Agriculture and Food, Clinton branch.
Recipes will be going immediately to the judges for
their consideration. Judges will be given ample time
to consider the recipes in each category and to try

some of them out in their own kitchens. Results of the
judging will be sent back to the newspaper within one
month.
Winners will be notified and pictures and stories will
be done, where possible, of the winning cooks for
publication in our Christmas editions.
Judges will be looking for originality and quality in
the winning recipes. They will also consider whether
or not the entrants met the contest rules as set out in
advertising in all papers prior to the contest.
