Holmesville II 4-H
The fifth meeting of the
Holmesville II was held
on Tuesday October 16,
1979. Cathy Van Ninhuys
opened the meeting with
the 4-H pledge. The
Needlepoint file was
discussed, then the leader
took over the meeting,
reading about blocking
while Corrie showed how
to block the squares.
Overcasting was read
and seemed quite dif-
ficult.
The members doing
pillows or wall hangings
were taught the "brick
stitch".
The sixth meeting of
the Holmesville II was
held on Monday, October
22 at Mrs. Bev Van
Ninhuys. Discussion was
held on the trip to the
Saltford Valley Hall for
the Carlow Christma,
•--Bazaar. Belinda Cud -
more and Denise Brand
won the door prize.
• The leaders took over
the meeting by going over
the "brick stitch" and
"overcasting". All read
"how to make a twisted
cord". After this was
read, Corrie showed how
to make belts and other
things, All read
"Tassels" and Corrie
taught us how to make
them.
The seventh meeting of
the Holmesville II was
held on October 29 at Mrs.
Corrie Brand's' ;ome.
All wrote a quiz and put
it in their book, and the
leaders told about
achievement night and
when it would be held.
• They revealed the date
the books were , to be
handed in. The books'
were gone through and
finished. All learned how
to put the backing oh
coasters and w4ii
hangings:
