To mininiiie tieatirm costs, current recommendations
irrmany ports of the country call for R-28 in the attic
area and up,ta.R-20 in the walls, Insulation in the attic
poses .no particular problem; you can always add to
your existing insulation. However there is simply not
enoggh'room insidd a standard 2x4 stud wall to install
R-20 iriUlation. GLASCLAD salves the problem.
GLASCLAD is. a rigid insulating exterior sheathing
board that is applied in the .same manner as con-
ventionarexterior sheathing boards. BLit GLASCLAD, in
conjunction with'31/2" fiberglass insulation baits WILL
PROVIDE the necessary increased "R value" you need.
It's applied vertically- to the face of the studs. It's
easy to install; you can cut it with a simple utility
knife. -
