CHRISTOPHER CHARLES ARCHAMBAULT Wed in Bayfield Decorated with baskets of pink gladioli and baby's breath, Knox Presbyterian Church in Bayfield was the setting on September 15 at 3 p.m. for the wedding ceremony of Julia Maude, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William D. Armstrong of RR3 Bayfield, and Christopher Charles Archambault, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Peters of Zurich. The .Reverend G. L. Royal of Goderich of- ficiated and the wedding music was played by Mrs. Corinne Chan of London. Miss Susan Sangster of Toronto sang "The Lord's Prayer", "Ode to Joy", and "0 Perfect Love". The bride was given in _ marriage by her father. She wore a bridal gown of crystal chiffon fashioned with a blouson bodice and long full sleeves with the buttoned back's 'flowing into a cathedral train. A wreath of stephanotis held her veil and she carried a bouquet of white roses, stephanotis and baby's breath. A long gown of rosebud pink, featuring a pleated skirt, was worn, ll,y'' the matron of• honour, Mrs. Winnie Darnbrough, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids, Mrs. Linda-Kowalchuk of London and Miss Marie Hartung of Guelph, friends of the bride, wore dresses identical to the matron of honor's. The junior bridesmaid, Miss Stephanie Peters of Zurich, sister of the groom, wore a longdress of flowered polyester and carried -a bouquet similar to the bridesmaids; Master Scott . Arm- strong of Bayfield, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer and was dressed in a grey pin- stripe suit. Brock Adams of London, friend of the groom, was best man and the ushers were"' James Armstrong of Bayfield,. brother of the bride and Larry ' Keller of Zurich, friend of the groom. The groom and at- tendants were attired in oxford grey jackets with pin -stripe trousers, For the reception at the Pine Ridge Chalet in Hensall, the bride's mother chose.a long gown of ice blue polyester with a pleated :skirt and a matching jacket ac- cented with a pink rose bud corsage. - The groom's mother wore a long gown of flowered rose and grey polyester with a mat- ching orchid corsage. Mr. ' Ron Sangster of Toronto was •master of ceremonies and Dr. M. C. Nordine of London, proposed the toast to the bride. Following the reception Mr. and Mrs. Archam- bault left for a honeymoon trip to Eastern Ontario, the bride travelling in a winter white suit ac- cented with a plum colored silk blouse and a matching corsage. Prior to her marriage the bride's classmates in Hamilton held 'a shower for her with Miss Marie Hartung as hostess. Mrs. D. W. Collier entertained at a shower in Komoka. The Presbyterian Church presented her with a gift and a community shower was held in Bayfield. Mr. and Mrs. Archambault have taken up residence in London. The new executive met at the home of Pat Armstrong on Wed- nesday,. October 3rd, when the agenda for then coming year was discussed. It was decided that the Catholic Parent- Teacher Association would have a Christmas raffle with the draw to be held at the school concert in December. Proceeds from this raffle will go towards the purchase of playground equipment for the school. There will be an open house and meet the teachers night on Thursday, October 25th from 7-9 p.m. Students may invite parents, relatives arrl friends. hall. on Wednesday, September 19th,' When William Eckert, Education Director for the Huron -Perth Separate School Board was the guest speaker fgr the evening. He spoke on thf proposed addition to the school and answered many questions• from the audience. • • Following the talk by Mr. Eckert, elections were held to appoint a new executive for the coming year. The results were as follows: past president, Marris Bos; president, Carole Kerrigan; vice-president, `Marie Middleton; secretary, Truce Ten Ont.St The October executive meeting of the U.C.W. of Ontario Street United Church was held in ladies parlor with Ethel McPherson the president in charge. The minutes were read by Valier Mair and adopted. Plans for looking after the hospital cart in _December were made. The official board are planninga meeting and having further discussion on helping the Boat People. Linda. Jones reported for the morning unit and, Photo by Phillips UCWto staff cart said they are having work meetings in preparation for the bazaar on Nov. 17. The treasurer's report was given by Hazel Parker who reported a substantial profit on the pork barbecue. Nancy Turner read the correspondence and the Huron Presbyterial Alert was read. Also a letter from Five Oaks was read and a donation was sent. • Mariamme Colelough reminded the members of a banquet for the Blind,on Dec. 1 Berni e`, B.> own had sent the usld stamps to the Leprosy Mission in Toronto. Lila Johnston reported for flowers and cards sent and asked if anyone knew of a church member who was sick or shut in, to let her know, by calling her on the telephone. The members ' agreed that the - December meetings should be a joint meeting of all units on Dec. 1. The flowers for November .are in charge of afternoon unit. Next executive meeting will be Summerhill ladies plan teas The Summerhill Ladies Club met at the home of Sandra Westerhout on Oct. 10. President, Sandra, opened the meeting wi.th a Thanksgiving poem and 19 members and one visitor answered the roll call with donations to the auction and ,articles .for the Flynn family. October 23. The bus will be leaving from the Clinton Arena at 8:15 a.m. Ruth Jenkins and Phyllis Tyndall will be leading a course on Indoor Gardening later this fall and after Christmas. Anyone in- terested is invited to attend. The next meeting will be held at Jane Van Spengen's home on Nov. 14 at 2:30 p.m. Jo Anne Salverda, Isabel Stewart and Donna Tyndall will be in charge of lunch and program. The roll call is to be answered by your pet peeve. Ruth Jenkins :gave a reading entitled "50th Wedding Anniversaries" and Shelley Westerhout played several lov,ely instrumentals on the piano. John Oestreicher. • Lighted candelabra and baskets•of white fugii poms, deep rose poms, and pink carnations with matching pink ribbon were the setting for the double -ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Wise, RR 3, Clinton and the groom is the son of Mr.. and Mrs. John Wubs, RR 2, Bayfield. The organ music was played by Miss Cathie Potter. The soloist, Mrs. Barb Hodgins, sang selections of "You Light Up My Life" and "The Wedding Song", and accompanied herself on the guitar. The bride wore a floor - length gown of polyester peau de soie with Queen Anne neckline, empire waist and flowing skirt. A long chapel •train fell from gathers at waistline. The bodice, hemline and train were accented by imported Belgian lace. Her caplet and ' pure silk illusion fingertip veil were trimmed with the same lace.
