Their first meeting of the 1979-80 year was held on September 11, in the form of a dinner meeting at the Little Inn of Bayfield.' Seventeen .. Kinettes at- tended, including the new president, Carol Finch, vice*president,' Donna Gibbings, Secretary, Cheryl . Hohner and treasurer, Bette Dalzell. The Kinettes have just completed their annual ", door to door canvass on behalf of the Arthritis Socieiy.. This project is done jointly with the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and their combined effort has been especially suc- cessful and profitable for the Arthritis Society. A final total for this year's canvass should be available soon. The Kinettes would like to thank everyone who so generously donated ' to this worthy cause. Another thank -you is extended to all of those who braved the cool evening and supported the family street dance on September 7. Although the weatherman did not co-operate, the Kinettes are pleased to turn over approxiately $500 to the Clinton Pool Fund. Those who attended seemed to enjoy this family evening% .of movies, popcorn, clowns, and dancing. Donations this month have gone to the Hospital Penny Sale, Muscular. Dystrophy Association and to the Hugh Flynn Family. Four members of the executive attended a president's seminar in Mitchell on. September 18, 1979. Clinton_ is one of seven clubs in Zone "k" of District 1. The other clubs- in Zone "K" at- tending were St. Marys, Stratford, Mitchell, Exeter, Goderich, and Hensall. Aims, objects and advice were on the agenda of the r `district? convenor, Sharon Wilson' and her executive. The Clinton Kinettes received three District Awards - The Efficiency Award, • International Relations Project and the Bloody Good Club Award. Past president Bev Riley was proud to receivethese on behalf of the club. A reminder to all that the Blood Donors Clinic is to be held in the Central Huron Secondary School auditorium on October 18, 1979. The Kinettes are the organizing body for this bi-annual event and urge everyone to give the gift of life.
