Don Barris and Harold
Jantzi received the of-
fering. The sermon was
"I cannot come down,".
Next Sunday, the
service. at 2 p.m. will
feature the president of
the London Conference,
Rev, Doug Ross as guest
speaker. This is the last
centennial event for our
church, so everyone is
welcome to attend this
service. Coffee hour will
be held after the service.
The UCW of
Holmesville Church will
meet October 9 at 2 p.m.
in the church hall.
Graduation
The Goderich District
Collegiate Institute held
their commencement
Friday, September 28 and
from Goderich Township
we have three Ontario
Scholars: Pamela
Lambert, Audrey Vanden
Heuvel and Bob Cox.
Pamela Lambert also
received the V.E. Elliott
Award for Creative
Writing, Audrey Vanden
Heuvel received the A.J.
Moore Memorial
Scholarship for teachers
in training, and Bob Cox
received the Wm. Cutt
Memorial Scholhrship for
the highest standings in
two foreign languages,
and the W.E. Elliott
Scholarship for a student
in journalism.
Pamela is attending
Victoria 'College,
Toronto; Audrey is at-
tending the Guelph
University and Bob is
attendin-g Carleton
University, Ottawa. Scott
Bell also received the
L.O.D.E. Award for the
highest standard in
history in Grade 9.

The Goderich Township
Women's Institute will
hold their October
meeting October 8 at 8
p.m. in the Holmesville
School.
Congratulations to Mr.
and Mrs. Paul Blair on
the arrival of their baby
daughter in the Goderich
Hospital.

wishes to Ed Johnston,
who is a patient in
hospital in Toronto due to
an accident recently at
Lake Port Steel,
Goderich.
Don and Isobel Harris
enjoyed a bus trip
recently up to Tobermory
riding 'on the M.S. Chi-
Cheemaun on to Sault
Ste. Marie, and then
taking a train ride up the
Agawa Canyon to enjoy
the very colorful scenery.
The tour then took them
to Frankenmuth where
they visited many shops,.
including the largest'
Christmas display in
1 North America. at
"Bronners". They en-
joyed a dinntr at
Frankenmuth and stayed
the night there. The
entire trip was enjoyed
by alL '
Mrs. Adrian Brand
recently enjoyed a trip
home to visit her mother
and family in the Hon-
duros.
Laurie and Phil
Paquette ' have gone to
England where Phil will
be best man at his
cousin's wedding.
