• Three lads sing
at Abba concert
Three area lads will have the thrill of a lifetime on
October 7 when they perform at Maple Leaf Gardens
in Toronto with the popular Swedish rock group Abba.
Joining the rock groupas part of a special per-
formance for the International Year of the Child will
be the'`,Stratford Boychoir. Among the members are
two Exeter boys, Brian Topp and Darren Tinney, as
well as a Hensall area youth, Tim Rowcliffe.
"Needless to say 'they're excited," commented one
of the boy's parents. '
The choir, which is made up of boys from eight to 15
years will rehearse with Abba and then perform two
numbers on tlite Toronto program, which is already
apparently sold out.
Abba is on its 'first North American tour and opened
in Edmonton earlier this month before a sold -out
crowd of 16,000 people. They will hit 14 cities in the
tour and at each stop, a children's choir will join with
them.
The group is one of those which donated a song and
all :its royalties to UNICEF -- Abba's one was Chiquita
- and the group itself is a family one, having four
children..n.,

Possible flooding could
occur in the Town of
Seaforth because of fill
being dumped along the
banks of the Bayfield
River east of the
Egmondville bridge.
A letter from the
Ausable Bayfield Con-
servation Authority
warned that if additional
fill is dumped a back-up
could occur in the town.
The letter said that the
fill being dumped on
private property on
either side of the river, is
encroaching on the
river's flood plain. It will
probably result in
causing Silver Creek to
flood in the town.
The fill was called "the
Egmondville dam".
Clerk Jack McLachlan
was authorized to attend
a zone meeting in Orillia
