Some people in
Brussels plan to fight the
recent decision of the
London Free Press to
close its bureaus in
Stratford and Goderich
and to phase out home
delivery in parts of Huron
County.
The Brussels Post
explained that village
and area people have felt
cuts before and presently
,have no. bus or train
service. They sometimes
feel isolated and want to
keep in touch with the
world around them
through the daily paper.
Brussels citizens have
taken action against the
Free Press phase out and
50 names were included
in a petition opposing the
closures.. The petition,
stating that subscribers
would like the paper to
stay in the village, was
sent to the Free Press two
weeks ago, but the daily
paper has not replied to
the request.
