TAKE NOTICE that the Municipal Council of The
Corporation of the Township of Tuckersmith will take
into consideration the passing, and if approved, will
,passat its meeting to be held on Sept. 18, 1979 at the
hour of 8:00 o'clock in the evening at Huron Centennial
School Brucefield, Ontario the following By-law:
A By-law for stopping up part of Road
Allowance between Lots 35 and 36, Concession
2, Huron Road Survey and Part of Road
Allowance between Lot 35, Concession 2,
Huron Road Survey and Lot 46, Concession 2,
London Road Survey, Township of Tucker -
smith, County of Huron and for conveying the
soil and freehold thereof.
The Council will at the aforesaid time and place hear
in person or by 'his counsel, solicitor or agent, any
person who claims that his lands will be prejudicially
affected by the By-law and who applies to be heard. •..
The proposed By-law and a Plan showing the portion
of the road allowance being closed may be seen at the
office of the undersigned or at the office of the Clerk at
the Township of Tuckersmith.

Ten building permits
were approved by
Goderich Township
Council when it met in
regular session on August
20.
These permits were
requested by Jean Oakes
for a cottage- addition;
Mrs. M. \Talbot for a
cottage; Holden Farms
for a driving shed; Ray
Wise to demolish a house
and build a, driving shed;
K. Van Den Heuvel for a
granary; H. McCullough
for a steel shed; Ray Cox
to demolish a shed; K.
Gyapjas for a shed and J.
Tebbutt for a silo.
A request for a building
permit by Fri Schilbe
for a mobile home was
held by council pending
Health Unit approval.

meeting to discuss
severing 10 acres from lot

regarding this matter.

Council passed a
motion, that the township
continue with the county
tree planting program on
the basis that the county
pay 50 per cent, the

In a written report C.P.
Corbett suggested three
methods of action which
the township might take
in dealing with the Yeo -
Van der -Waal drain
extension request. The
clerk was instructed to
'contact Mr. Corbett
regarding the status- of
his report before con-
tacting the affected
people.
Mr. Whitwoth, on
behalf of the Blue Water
Beach Association,
requested action of
council on dog control
and roads. Council in-
structed the clerk to reply
to Mr. Whitwoth's
requests pointing out that
the township's intends to
close the roadway in
question, the road being
So close to the top of the
ravine bank that it is
unsafe to permit a road
grader on the road; and
that the bylaw en-
forcement officer, acting
on advice from the OPP,
requested that registered
letters be sent to Mr.
Moore, Mr. McPherson
and. Mr. Finlayson
regarding their dogs and
that a copy of the dog
control bylaw be en-
closed.
Tile drainloans were
requested by Barry
Wilson for lot 20 Huron'
Road and John Rodges
for lot 100 Maitland
concession. These were
filed with the other ap-
plications until a policy
can be established for
distributing the township
quota.
Six tenders for loading
and hauling on township
roads were ' opened ' and
the tender of J. Adams
was accepted by council
pending MTC approval.
Council passed a
motion that Mrs. A.
Porter be appointed to fill
out the balance of J.
Fritzley's term of office
on the township
Recreation Committee.
Accounts totalling
more than $25,000 were
ordered paid by council.
Council then adjourned
until September 3 at' 8
p.m.

The 21st annual Bert
Lobb picnic was held
August 26, at the home of
Don and Alison Lobb with
81 members and 2 guests

pm under the capable
superyision of table
committee member,,

Bruce and Diane Lobb.
After the meal a short
business meeting was
chaired by president
Kirk Lyndon. Minutes of
the last meeting were
read by secretary, Joan
Lyndon.
It was decided that Ray
Lobb would - step up as
president for the 1980
picnic, and Jim Docking
was nominated as vice-
president. Carrie and
Harold Lobb, Barb and
Ken Pullman volunteered
for the table committee.

mittee.

Silver dollars were again
given to the three new
members of the family -
Jay (son of Shirley and
Allan) Biernaskie,
Jeffreey (son of Dick and
Carol) Lobb and Jason
(son .of Murray and
Roba) Lobb.
This farm was also the
site for the annual George
Lobb reunion held earlier
in the summer. The
president was Howard
Pym, assisted by his
wife, Grace, as
secretary; and the table
committee was Marg and
Don Crich, Don and
Alison Lobb.
The vice-president,
Robert Atkinson, agreed
to move up as president
next year and all agreed
that the second Sunday in
July was a good
prospective date for the
1980 reunion.
Blessed with good
weather, a variety of
sports and games oc-
cupied the young, and
young -at -heart, for most
of the afternoon. These
were capably organized
by the Cramer boys -
Walter and Robert -
assisted by their parents,
John and Marjery; along
with Helen and Parry
Baer.

were most rewarding.
