Ceie»'ate 58th'
A well known area
Pastor and his wife,
. Alfred and Alice Fry of
Kincardine, are
celebrating _ their 58th
wedding anniversary
Thurs., Sept. 6. quietly.
They were married
Sept„ 6, 1921 in the
Methodist Church par-
sonage in Kincardine
with Rev. J.N. Clarry
officiating at the
ceremony.,
The couple hale been
away* from 'their ,home
town for the past 24 years
while Mr. Fry, or Pastor
Fry as he is known, was
serving under the Home
Mission Board of the
United Church.
In 1954 he was asked to
take over the two point
charge of Zion and
Riversdale United
Churches.
The couple remained
with those churches for
three years and then took
over the two point charge
of Tobermory and Set-
tlement United Churches.
During the four years
the Frys lived in
Tobermory, Mrs. Fry
was instrumental in
organizing the Explorers
and Canadian Girls in
Training (CGIT)
organizations. She was
also active in the UCW.
"While we were there;
both churches were
renovated and additions
were built,"Mr. Fry said.
In 1961 the Frys were
called to the three point
charge of Cargill,
Pinkerton, and Edden's
Grove United Churches.
They were with those
churches -eight years.
While there, Mr. Fry said
he had the privilege of
teaching Christian
education to five area
schools.
Mr. and, Mrs. 9F' rr
received an invitation to
come to Auburn in 1969
where Mr. Fry was the
minister of the Auburn
and Donnybrooke United
Churches. They had lived
in Auburn for five years
when Mr. Fry was
superannuated by the
United Church at the '
London Conference in
1974. It was at that time
that Mr. Fry retired from
the ministry and he and
Mrs. Fry moved to
Goderich.
The couple didn't
return to Kincardine until
early, in 1979. They now
reside in Forbes Lambton
Court.
"We felt we could
spend more time with our
family if we lived here,"
Mr. Fry. said.
The couple have six
children, Winnie Dah-
mer, 'Kincardine
Township; Gordon,
Huron Township; Morris,
Kincardine Township;
Margaret Haldenby,
McKellar and Bill,
Goderich Township. They
also have 17 grand-

grandchildren.
