No, Clinton wasn't invaded by some strange creatures from outer space last
Friday, it was just the kids from the Clinton playground dressed up fortheir
Star Wars Day. They paraded down the main street as part of the event.

Lions Club.
The, fun starts at 5 p.m.
on Friday,, August 17 with
'rides.and side shows for
the kids at the Recreation
Centre Park. The beer
lhall will , also open AC 5
p.m. in the Recreation
Centre. At 7 p.m. there
will be a bevy of beauties
on parade when the
judging for Queen of the
Fair takes place'. At 8
p.m. there will be a
Talent Show, so if you
have an unusual act, or
talent, plan to attend and
take part. If none of this
appeals to you, simply
come on, out, meet some
friendly faces and join in
on some real fun.
On Saturday, ,-August
18th for the sports en-
thusiasts, there will be a
T -ball tournament and
softball tournament .,for
pee wee girls, pee wee
boys and bantam boys.
There is also a, tug-of-
war contest going on with
the championship team
from Innerkip taking
part, along with some
good local teams. Weigh-
in is at 10 a.m._
At 1 p.m. -everything
stops for the Mammoth
Parade which includes
marching bands and up to
40 floats.
If you have a bonnie
baby of one year or un -
'der, bring the _little
darling out and enter him
or her in our baby show
starting at 2 p.m. There
are two categories - six
months and under and
one year and under.
If you have a bird with
two heads, a cat with two
tails, a mut or pedigree
dog, enter it in the pet
show at 3 p.m. There is no
entry fee for these shows
and no admission fee to
the fair.
Bingo starts at the
Recreation Ct;ntre. at 2
p.m. All games are share -
the -wealth.
The fair rounds up with
a Mardi Gras with
dancing to the music of
Kadenza until 1 a.m.
Last chance to see play
Patrons will have one
last chance to see This
Foreign Land at the Blyth
Summer Festival this
year. A benefit per-
formance of the play has
been scheduled for
Saturday, August 18 at 2
p.m. All proceeds .from
the performance will be
donated to the Actors'
Fund "'of the Canadian
Actors, Equity
Association
Actors, technicians and
administrativestaff will
be volunteering their
time and s.ervices, over
and above their regular
duties, -in order to make
this performance a
success. The total of • all
admissions paid to, the
performance will be used
to aid .those actors, who,
through illness or
misfortune, have become
unable to practise their
craft.
Admission to this
performance is at regular
Festival prices -- $4.25 for
adults, $3.50 for senior
citizens and $2.50 for
children.
