David's grandfather is William Stephen of Huronview. David's honesty was. rewarded by Mr. Godson. Unfortunately, Mrs. Godson was not as for- tunate, while` holidaying in New York City, she had her wallet stolen while. dining out. + + Mr. and Mrs. Roger Southin, Nancy and Brian have returned to St. Johns, Newfoundland after visiting for a few weeks with Sheila's parents, Isabel and Len Theedom of Rattenbury Street. Roger is Captain of the CCGS "Grenfell", the search and rescue vessel which patrols our Newfoundland and Labrador waters. The Clinton Public Library is a great place to visit for both bookworms and avid bargain hunters. Until September 1 the library will `be holding their an- nual book sale and hundreds of novels, and non-fiction books can be bought for a mere quarter. (News -Record photo) Clinton court report Charges involving illegal use of liquor and unnecessary noise filled over half of the Clinton Court docket for August. Charges involved minors and adults having liquor available in a motor vehicle or charges of consuming liquor, which applies to those who are drinking other than in a licensed establishment. Huron County judge William Cochrane last week doubled liquor fines Five minors paid fines, in or out of court, for having liquor available. Other fines for speeding went to: Roxy Maize, $22; James Lennox, $34; Mary Munday, $22. In other traffic cases, Tony Van Dyke was fined $28 for making an im- prolier U-turn. Harriett Dale was fined $28 for a• charge of not safely starting from a parked position. John Anderson was fined $28 for failing to obey a' stop sign. Harry Waymouth was fined $28. for failing to obey a stop sign in another case. Karl Brall was fined. $28 for failing to wear a seat belt. Seaforth pastor leaves After 14 years as pastor, Father H.J. Laragh will give up his post at St. James' Church in August. The Huron Expositor reported that Father Laragh will become pastor of Our Lady of Mercy in Sarnia and Rev. W.C. Cooney, present pastor of All Saint's parish in Strathroy will take over the Seaforth charge.
