Institute held their picnic
and Grandmothers' Day
at the •Ausable-Bayfield
Conservation Par•k,;
Clinton, on Thursday,
July 26th,, Though the day
was cool and the, at-
tendance small, . all en--
joyedthemselves°.
Following a picnic
• dinner, a short business
session was held,.. whena
committee was appointed
to look into a bus trip or
some activity for August,
and a committee was also
set up to look into
repairing the Wen's
Institute .. `

Mrs. Lois Elliott gave a
reading "Eighty two
years", and Mrs. Leona
Holland read a, very
appropriate reading for
Grandmothers' Day
entitled "Remember".

presentation was made to
Mr. and Mrs. Mel Irwing,
a gift on their 25th
wedding anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. Barry
Wilson have returned
home from a very en-
joyable holiday.
Don and Isabel Harris
visited with Jim and
Irene Durnin of London
on Sunday.
Mr. Alvin Bettles,
Roger Maguire of
England and Franklin
Snell of Blyth are
spending a few days in
Niagara ..and the area,
camping.
Alvin and. Barb Betties
held an anniversary
dinner on, Sunday for
Bruce and Beryl Betties
of Goderich and their five
children. The Bettles
have been married for 13
years..
Softball riews
In Goderich Township
Softball news, the Midget
boys beat Varna in a best
out of three semi-final
series. The Goderich
Township team leads by
one game. In Tyke action,
the Tykes bent Benmiller
in a best of' three game
semi-final series, leading
by one game.
Don't forget the slow
pitch game, this Sunday
at 1:30' pm at the new
Holmesville diamond.
Art Bells Gun Club and
The Goderich Township
team will be on the field;
Spectators are asked to
bring , their own lawn
chairs.

their second play-off
