On Thursday evening while the bingo was taking place in our auditorium, the Credit Union directors for the Huron County area held a meeting in our Ladies Lounge. Our bingo was again a success despite the Wintario draw which was held in the Seaforth Community Centre last Thursday. Our faithful patrons who are dedicated Bingo en- thusiasts were on hand in support of our bingo evening. Our team of bingo workers, headed by team captain Wilf Castle, did their usual good job of serving i, -our patrons. My apologies for misplacing the Jackpot winner names, but congratulations to those who split the $200 jackpot. Our social Saturday evening, although not well attended, was an enjoyable evening for those who were present. The music was provided by the Royalairs. It was Harvey Hayter's last function as en- tertainment chairman, and those present, led by the Orchestra, gave him a standing thank -you and a chorus of "He's a Jolly Good Fellow", for his efforts during the past year. John Stevely now takes on the job of en- tertainment chairman with his first function scheduled for September, so watch for our special August bulletin for fur- ther information, or just call John or the Legion. We are sorry indeed to lose one of our employees in the person of Stan Batt from our staff. Stan has improved his em- ployment statue by ac- cepting a position on the Brvewater Centre staff. Good Luck Stan! It will be a tough job replacing you. Our loss is their gain. Smile We predict that exact reproduction . through cloning will not become popular. The storm, which dumped 11/2 inches of marble -sized hail on the town, com- pletely destroyed many gardens, and shredded leaves off trees. This picture shows the former home of Charlie Brown (now torn down) on Victoria Street, directly behind Wesley -Willis United church. The hail didn't melt for several hours. Budget cut The budget of the South Huron Recreation board has been cut by $7,000, the Exeter Times -Advocate reported last week, on orders of Exter council. Mayor Derry Boyle said that the town would still be responsible for whatever deficit they ended up with. S OTH ANNUAL STEPHENSON REUNION Sunday, Jul t y y 1 1 Seaforth Lions Park Reminisce 4 P.M. ?
