Earl St Jean preached his farewell sermon last Sunday morning in Knox United Church with the theme - The search for meaning of Baptism. During the service Rev. A reading was given by Mrs. Ed Davies and the hymn, Lo the voice of Jesus said. The president, Mrs. Donald Cartwright presided for the business period. The minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as read by the secretary, Mrs. John Daer. The financial statement was given by the treasurer, Mrs. Tom Haggitt. After the of- fering was received and dedicated with prayer, the travelling apron was passed. The roll call was an- swered by naming a Queen that was named in the Bible. After Grace was sung, a su&essful auction was held. Lunch was served by Mrs. Kirkconnell assisted by Mrs. Donald Cart- wright Softball played The softball committee meeting was held last Thursday, June 21. A decision was made that no one should be playing beyond June 28 that has not paid their $6. or $3. registration fee. About 15 players have not paid their fee. June 11, Auburn Ladies defeated Benmiller 14 to 13; June 18, they also won over Londesboro 33-22. The next game is June 25 in Blyth. The Auburn Midgets iwon over Benmiller Wednesday June 20 but it seemed to require some help in an uncompleted game. This coming week, Holmesville Midgets play at Auburn Friday June 30 at 7 p.m. for the 125th birthday party, Wed- nesday July 4 - Auburn Midgets travel to Lon- desboro.
