Lunch was served by Doreen Carter, Jessie Tebbutt and Annie Vincent. United Church news Rev. Stewart Miner was guest minister on Sunday at 10 am. Welcoming was Bert Lyon while the ushers were Robert Hunking, Bruce Hunking, Bob Jamieson and Ronald Nesbit and the organist was Louise IyicGregor. The choir leader was Barbara Bosman. The children's story was about an 8 year-old Indian orphan's prayer, "make me like Jesus was at 8 -years -old". Junior teachers were Marie Bromley and Susan Jamieson. Rev. Miner's scripture reading was on hypocrites and the message "outside of Jesus life". Next Sunday will be promotional and award gar.. Sunday with the Sunday School in charge. Flowerss on the east side of the stand were in loving memory of Henry Glousher, who was buried on Saturday and were placed by son Wilmer and Norma Glousher. On the west side of the stand the flowers were placed by Mr. and Mrs. Bob Peel in honour of the marriage of their daughter Audrey to Thomas Jackson which took place in the church on Saturday. Aimwell Unit are sponsoring Gail Lear's music recital June 21 in the church. All are welcome to attend. Official board meeting will be at 7:30 pm June 27 and at 8 pm the induction service for Rev. Robert Scott, followed by a social time and lunch. Everyone is to bring sandwiches, cookies, squares or tarts. Personals Sympathy is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Wilmef Glousher on the death of his father Henry Glousher. Sorry to report Rev. Stan Bronton is a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital, Chatham following a heart attack. Rev. Bronton was minister here 1947-1952. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Newby returned home on Monday June 10 from two weeks on a fishing trip at Pembroke. Miss Grace Goodfellow of Teeswater spent the weekend with Miss Edythe Beacom. They both attended the retirement dinner on Saturday night honouring Miss Olive Johnson held at Ontario Street United Church, Clinton. Hazel Watkins and Beth Knox have returned home from a five day bus tour through New York and Pennsylvania states. Travelling through Breezewood Harrisburg and Lancaster touring Gettesburg, Hershey's chocolate world and the rose garden in Penn- sylvania, also toured Corning Glass in Corning, New York Volunteers and Kinsmen have been hard a work over the last several weeks, getting the Clinton Raceway ready for another year. On Tuesday night Mrs. Laura Lyon and Miss Edythe Beacom held a family gathering at the home of Mrs. Laura Lyon in honour of their niece Lois (Beacom) and Ken Edey, newlyweds from Regina Saskatchewan.
