Called Courage
The young, the high of
heart,
Will strive to show;
Courage means
recklessly daring
The heights undareable.
The older, the
disciplined,
Have come to know;
Courage means quietly
bearing
The things unbearable.
by B. Y. Williams.
The above is a tribute
to all senior citizens. Next
week has been officially
4eclared Senior Citizens'
Week. The "young -old"
folk from Clinton and
area are a great bunch.
They enjoy life and ask
little in return. They are a
going crowd, either with
bus trips here and there
or with their card games,
quilting meetings, and by
supporting local clubs.
Keep up your life style we
are all proud of you.
Last Sunday, June 17
was the 40th wedding
anniversary of Mr. and
Mrs. Carl Cox of Mill
Street, Clinton. Elaine
and Jerry Cox assisted by
Ann and Craig Cox hosted
a quiet celebration for
close friends and family
members at the former's
home on Ontario Street.
+ ++
Mrs. Ila Cudmore and
Mrs. Ruth Bond attended
the 73rd annual con-
vention of the Ontario
Horticultural Society
held at the Holiday Inn,
London, last week.
+ ++
From time to time we
feel we give credit where
credit is due to the fine
work of the Clinton
Horticultural Society in
dressing up our town,
especially at this time of
year. This week we can
commend to you the
poem on the editorial
page written by the
Society's president, Ruth
Bond. Read it, it's both
clever and thought
provoking and let's hope
activating as well.
