Payne the executive of Hensall Women's Institute met in the United Church on Tuesday, June 5 and planned. the program for the coming year. Ten members were present. UCW meets The June meeting of Unit four, Hensall United Church was opened by the president, Mrs. James McAllister and Mrs. Cliff Britton led in prayer. For the study, Mrs. Eric Luther chose "God's place in family life" as the topic, bringing the message- of how much God's presence is needed in our homes today and reminding us that children are a blessing and we should cherish them. June before the Fid- dlers' Contest continues. All baking is to be brobght in by 9 a.m. Lunch was served by Mrs. Pearl Shaddick, Mrs. Elizabeth Riley and Mrs. Shirley Luther. Church news The message at Hensall United Church was to place more trust in God as shown by the story in Daniel of the burning, firey furnace. This was presented, not by the minister, Rev. Stan C. McDonald, but by the .children of the Huronia Children's Choir in a sacred musical called, "It's cool in the furnace". Fourteen children sang in the choir with special parts being taken by the following: Daniel, Jen- nifer Mason; Nebuchadnezzar, Tim Rowcliffe; Shadrach, Tim Easterbrook; Meshach, David Dougall; Abednego, Peter Cook; The Snitch, Heidi Bon- thron; guards, Amy Bonthron, Karen Wells and Pam McCaffrey; the three wise men, Heather Jamison, Sara Patterson and Ronnalynn Bell. Costumes were designed by Beth Jamison. The choir consists of children scattered throughout the area with Mrs. Marianne McCaffrey as Director and Dr. Ralph Topp as accompanist. Hensall Sales Hensall Sales Barn prices were steady to higher last Thursday with an active demarid. Supply consisted mainly of heifers and steers. - Fat cattle: steers, $82.50- $85.75, top to $86.25; heifers, $81.75-$85.75, top to $90.50. Pigs: $32-$40. °Socials Mr. and Mrs. Ken Glavin and family and Mr. and Mrs. Basil Glavin and family of Mount Carmel visited with Mr. and Mrs. Sam Oesch on Sunday. Mrs. Rachael Schwalm spent a pleasant visit with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bob French, Roy and Joey at Rousseau recently. Don't forget the Fid- dlers' Contest at the arena on Friday and Saturday, June 15 and 16 and the Spring Fair at the tame place on June 19.
