Mrs. Blanche Chapman of London visited on the weekend with her brother-in-law and sister Mr. and Mrs. Jack Corbett. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Holland, Gwen and Michael of Clinton were Easter visitors with Mr. and Mrs. James Sangster and Brad. Mrs. Edgar Munn returned home after visiting with Miss M. Swan and Mrs. Ham in Brucefield. Mr. and Mrs. Alen Busche and daughters of Dorchester were weekend visitors with Mrs. Busche's parents Mr. and Mrs. Bert Horton. Miss Dorothy Farquhar, London and Mr. and Mrs. Ron Farquhar, Toronto spent Easter with their mother Mrs. Emma Farquhar, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Bellamy spent the weekend with relatives in Owen Sound. Mr. and Mrs. Don With a little support from James Sauve, 11, Christine Johnston, 9 was able to balance on her skateboard. The two enjoyed a day free from school on Monday and spent the afternoon skateboarding through Bayfield. Easter visitors with Mrs. Lorna Chapman were Mr. and Mrs. Craig Chapman, Michelle and Tina of Forest, Mr. Gerry Chapman O.P.P., Mrs. Chapman, Lisa dnd Leanne, Burlington, Mr. and Mrs. Don MacLaren, Jodi and Brooke, Oak- ville. Easter Services Rev. K. Knight con- ducted Easter service in Carmel Presbyterian Church on Sunday speaking on the subject The Resurrection and Love's Reward. The Junior Choir and the Senior choir sang Mrs. R. Tuckersmith UCWmeet by Mrs. H. F. Berry The meeting of the Tuckersmith Unit I of the Brucefield UCW was held on April 9. Miss Jean McEwan and Mrs. Ann Broadfoot led in the devotions, in the absence of Mrs. Edna Paterson. Mrs. Broadfoot also played the piano in ab- sence of Mrs. Ross Scott. Miss McEwan opened the meeting with a poem. This was followed by a song and prayer. Mrs. Broadfoot then gave an Easter reading and the offering was received and dedicated. Mrs. Broadfoot spoke on her trip to Germany where she visited in 1930. She showed many in- teresting pictures. After the devotions, Mrs. Broadfoot chaired the business portion of the meeting and thanked the ladies in charge. Twenty members and three visitors answered the roll call with a favorite game. The May meeting will be charged by Mrs. Broadfoot and Mrs. M. Walters. The roll call will ask members to name a famous mother. The June bus trip was discussed and more in- formation will be available at the May meeting. A plant auction will also take place at the meeting and everyone is invited to attend. Miss McEwan and Mrs. Broa'dfoot led a number of contests and games for fun night. The losers of the penny sale served a delicious dinner before the meeting. Rebekah president visits Clinton group The Huronic Rebekah Lodge 3 and 6 opened their meeting with all officers wearing their long white dresses and 'District -Deputy Pres. Kathleen Cuthill, along with the Seaforth members, was given -""'a special welcome. Words of congratulations were given to Sister Jean Henderson for being named as the new District -Deputy President for 1980. All officers promised to stand behind her in her new office. Final plans were made for the dessert euchre to be held in May. Members were also reminded of the Speical Church Service to be held in Wesley -Willis Church on May 6. Twenty -Five Dollars was donated to the Leukemia Fund. After the closing of Lodge, the District - Deputy Pres. Kathleen Cuthill gave a very in- teresting talk on the Rebekah Regalia. She explained the meaning of each officer's jewel that they wear and also em- phasized the importance of the jewel that is worn by the ordinary member. This proved very in- teresting as the Lodge has just recently pur- chased and dedicated new regalia. The District Deputy closed with a very fitting poem. A bounteous lunch was served by Sister Jean Henderson and Sister Mike Broadfoot's group. Mrs. Eileen Rannie returned home after spending Easter in Kitchener.
