The Brucefield U.C.W.
were guests at Kippen
U.C.W. Thankoffering.
The evening was
thoroughly enjoyed with
special music by Sylvia
Bell and the topic for the
meeting was Child Abuse
with a very interesting
discussion following a
film.
On Easter Sunday
morning a large at-
tendance gathered at
Brucefield United Church
for the Sunrise Service at
7:30 a.m. and enjoyed the
breakfast which followed
in the church hall. The
Easter Bunny even left
goodies for the little ones.
Stanley Curling Club
Extra places had to be
set at Hully Gully when 75
people sat down to enjoy
a smorgasbord banquet
at Awards Night for 'the
curling club. All of the
regular curlers, many
spares and families came
out for their last meeting
this season.
President Jean Taylor
conducted the business
meeting which followed.
Vina and Don Brodie
presented a potted plant
which was won by Jean
Horton.
Beautiful trophies were
presented by the
recreation committee to
the- winning teams in the
playoffs.
Mr. Paul Steckle and
family were guests for
the evening. Mr. Steckle
announced the winners as
they came forward: first
place, Bob and Gayle
Turner-, Howard - and
Joyce Armstrong; second
place, Don and Vina
Brodie, Bill and Marjorie
Consitt; third place, Bill
and Mary Lou McGregor,
Randy and Audrey
Collins; consolation prize
went to: Gerald and Jean
Rathwell, Dave and
Kathy Mustard.
Team with the highest
points during the season
were Bob and Gayle
Turner and Howard and
Joyce Armstrong.
Prizes for games were
donated by Bob and
Gayle Turner and were
won by Gerald Rathwell,
Arnold Taylor, Eileen
McGregor and Lorraine
Peck.
Election of officers took
place and the following
were installed for next
season: past president,
Jean Taylor; president,
Bill McGregor; vice
president, Bob Turner;
secretary -treasurer,
Eileen McGregor; social
committee, Gerald and
Jean Rathwell, Mel and
Betty Graham, Bev and
Shirley Hill.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred
McGregor spent the
weekend with Mrs. Betty
McGregor.
