recreation council
meeting it was decided to
appoint a separate sof-

the entire softball
program for the summer

nod of approval from the
recreation council. A list
of rules to guide them
was also set up.

Rec. board faces
land shortage
The yearly problem of
finding enough room for
soccer and baseball play
in Clinton was discussed
by the rec committee at
their April 12 meeting.
Although no team
schedules for minor ball
or soccer have been
completed yet, the town's
committee is foreseeing a
problem of lack of space
for teams to practice and
play.
"Before we draw up
any schedule we'll have
to get more land,"
suggested)" new rec
member Len Fawcett.
"And where will we get
it?" questioned Dennis
Jewitt.
"We'll have to
designate some areas as
playing fields and some
for practice areas," Ron
McKay suggested.
Cleo Colquhoun noted
that the public school
diamond and the
diamond at the Fish and
Game area will have to
be repaired.
"The arena has the
only two playable
diamonds for games,"
she explained.
