buildings losing their

we were lucky in this
area to miss the ice storm
on Sunday.

Enumerators
start work
The countdown to the
May 22 federal election
started last week when
181 enumerators began
the door-to-door search
for voters in the Huron -
Bruce riding. The
enumeration which
started Monday, was to
finish on Saturday.
Garnet Hicks, chief
returning officer for the
riding said any Canadian
subject who is resident
here and will be 18 years
of age by election day is
eligible to vote in the
riding in the upcoming
election.
This year, under re-
distribution, the riding
has been changed from
Huron -Middlesex to
Huron -Bruce, which
means dropping the north
of Middlesex from the
riding and adding Bruce
County municipalities.
The two declared
candidates in the Huron -
Bruce riding are in-
cumbent MP Robert
McKinley, the
Progressive Con-
servative candidate and
Graeme Craig of Walton,
running for the Liberal
party. The NDP party
wi I be nominating their
ca didate for the riding
later this month.
