The ader welcomed all who attended. The scripture, meditation and prayer were taken by Mrs. Irene Cudmore and Mrs. Muriel Grigg. The girls' choir sang two numbers ac- companied at the piano by Mrs. Verna Lobb. The guest speaker Mrs. Nancy Patterson was introduced by Isobel Sturdy. Mrs. Patterson and her husband are leaders at Camp Menesetung. She showed interesting slides of the camp including the buildings, the swimming pool and the many and varied activities of the camp. In her com- mentary, as she showed the slides, she spoke of the worship and vesper services at camp, and the benefits the young people enjoy there. Mrs. Pat- terson led a sing -song of various songs sung at camp. Mrs. Charlotte Norman thanked Mrs. Patterson for coming and for her presentation and information of the privileges of life at Camp Menesetung. She was presented with a gift and a donation. The girls' choir sang the Camp song for the guest. The offering was received by Mrs. Alice Porter and Mrs. Bessie Townshend and dedicated by singing a 'hymn. A children's poem was read by Irene Cudmore. Mrs. Phyllis Cox gavlan interesting account of early settlers who .chose to build a church in preference to other things. The meeting closed ; with the benediction. A delicious lunch and social hour was enjoyed by all present. Church news At last Sunday's worship service, Rev. Oestresicher brought palm. branches to show the children, as he told them the story of Palm Sunday, before they went to their classes. The men's choir sang a hymn and The Day of Trial was the topic for the sermon. Frank Thompson and Brian Riddell received the offering. The Easter Sunday Sunrise Service is to be held on the top of the hill next Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m. Meet at the church at 7:15 a.m.) If the weather is un- favourable the service will be held in the church. If you are unable to at- tend the service, come and enjoy breakfast together before the 9:45 a.m. worship service. Goderich Township A successful euchre party was held by the Goderich Township WI last Thursday evening with eight tables playing. The winners were: men's high, Bob Sowerby; ladies' high, Grace Fuller; men's low, Ray Cox; ladies' low, Mrs. Bruce McClinchey; lone hands, Barb Bettles and John Deeves sharing a bag of Easter eggs; the lucky cup, Grace Fuller; lucky chair, Myrtle Stirling; lucky an- niversary, Alice Porter. Winners of the apples donated by John Ostrom were Alva Cox and Jerry Innis. The Goderich Township WI wishes to thank everyone who attended their card parties and hope to see you all next fall. Personals A benefit dance will be held April 27 at the Pine Ridge Chalet for Alvin and Lynda Jones who lost their. home by fire last Friday. Dancing will be from 9:30 to 1 d.m.'to the Country Companions. Ladies are asked to bring sandwiches. Lorri takes bronze Mitchell's sweetheart, Lorri Baier has brought a bronze medal home from the World Figure Skating juniors com- petition in Augsburg, Germany. Twenty-thre countries took part in a recent competition, with the Russians as the skaters to beat.
