sacred drama, "His
Robe", - the premier
presentation of which will
take place Easter Sun-
day, April 15 in his
temple.

Grand Officer night set
Margaret Caldwell,
worthy matron and Guss
Boussey worthy. patron of
Clinton Chapter, Order of
the Eastern Star,
welcomed visitors from
Nilestown, London,
Stratford, Mitchell,
Seaforth and Goderich to
their meeting on April 5.
The evening had been set
aside to make special
guests of the honorary
members of the chapter.
Final plans were made
for the Grand Officer
Night to be held on April
19 at Seaforth with
Mitchell and Clinton
chapters co -hosting.
.Ways and Means
convener, Mrs. Joan Bell
reported on the worthy
patron's project items
displayed at town
businesses. Members
were asked to sell their
tickets on the two
needlepoint florals and
tablecloth set to be drawn
on June 7. Money raised
will be forwarded to the
Arthritic Research
Foundation. Tickets were
sold on the evening draw
donated by Mrs. Mary
Teeple, PDDGM, and
won by Mrs. June
Boussey.

Storm causes accidents
Clinton Police and the
OPP were busy last week
investigating a number of
minor accidents, caused
by the late winter storm.
On April 6, two vehicles
were damaged after they
collided at the corner of
Albert and Princess
Streets in Clinton.
A car driven by Steven
Riley. -17, of RR 4, Clinton
was northbound on Albert
Street, attempting to turn
onto Princess when he
skidded into the path of
the westbound vehicle on
Princess Street, driven
by Thomas Davies, 28, of
London.
Loose snow on the road
was the cause of an April
7 accident when Wayne
Appleman, 24, of RR 1,
Lucan and Michael
Johnston, 22, of London
collided. The Johnston
vehicle was westbound on
John Street and the
Appleman vehicle was
eastbound, attempting to
turn into a driveway
when the accident oc-
curred. Damage to the
Appleman car was set at
$300 and $200 to the
Johnston vehicle.
Trying to stop for a
cyclist on the icy street
caused an April 8 ac-
cident between two cars
that resulted in $900 in
damages.
A car driven by Gordon
Kinahan, 19, of RR " 2
Lucknow was northbound
on Albert Street, trying to
turn lett onto Princess
Street when he suddenly
had to stop for a cyclist
crossing his path. A
second vehicle driven by
Jeffrey Tyndall, 30, of RR
5, Clinton slid into the
side of the Kinahan car
because of the icy roads.
Damage to the Kinahan
car was set at $500 and
the Tyndall vehicle
received $400 in
damages.
A vehicle driven by
Frank Riley, 72, of RR 2,
Seaforth received $900 in
damages._ and a second
car driven by Bert
Dykstra, 32, of RR 2,
Clinton received $180 in
damages after the two
collided on April 9.
The Dykstra car was
southbound on Victoria
Street and saw the Riley
vehicle stopped to turn
into a driveway. When
Mr. Dykstra attempted to
brake, he slid through the
slush, into the right side
'of the Riley car.
Police reported that a
car owned by Doug
Morgan, 343 Victoria
Street, Clinton was
recovered in Lucan after
it had been stolen from
Mr. Morgan's horne on
April 8.
The 1973 Comet was
found with $1,300 in
damages. Police are still
investigating the theft
which occurred
sometime between 2:30
and 10 a.m.
While attempting to
travel through the storm
on riday on Highway 8,
nor- h of Holmesville, two
car received a total of
$2,500 in damages when
they collided.
The Goderich OPP
reported that a car driven
by David Bromley, 34, of
Kincardine received
$1,500 in damages, and a
second car, driven by
Carlo Facco36, of Port
Elgin received $1,000
when they collided in the
near zero visibility at the
time.
