Ow. Iasi week's men's
euchre night saw
Comrade Doug Cameron
grin the high score holder
e,tth an 83, while the low
,cure was captured by
Joe Whelan and the most
lune hands winner with
six for the evening was
Howie Grealis.
Comrade Harold Black
still holds a commanding
lead in the Lone IIand
Department with 71, and
Howie Grealis still has
the slim lead in the high
average department with
75.1. Each game now
becomes crucial as we
near the end of the
season.
Our bingo night last
Thursday was again a
success as our bingo
teams work so diligently
fur our benefit. Winner of
the $200 jackpot prize last
week was Betty Bell.
The dart club was
again active • with dart
chairman Terry
Hollingshead and ladies
auxiliary president
Annie Sallows winning
the high pairs com-
petition. The men's single
high score of 140 went to
Comrade Alden King,
while the ladies' single
high score was won by
Doris Chambers with a
score of 108.
Zone activities were
also in the news last week
as Sunday afternoon, ten
of our Branch 140
members attended the
zone meeting in Blyth
chaired by zone com-
mander George Camp-
bell. Our Comrade. Bill
Harris was re-elected as
Zone Sports Officer.
Our appreciation 4 also
extended to our pipe and
drum band and color
party for an excellent job
well done in organizing
and supervising the pipe
and drum band dance last
Saturday night. It was
well attended with an
extremely well talented
disc jockey providing the
music. Associate
member Bruce
Schoenahls was the lucky
fellow winning the draw
prize, and Comrade
Bruce Bartliff was also
lucky winning the door
prize
