Brown, Raglan Street,
returned from North
Palm Beach, Florida last
week. Just to give them a
thste of the snow they had
missed all winter, Clinton

when he lived in Clinton

from a letter received in
the News -Record office
this week. Mr. Elliott now
resides in Toronto.
"I recently received a
Citation from the Ontario
Fire Marshal's office for
30 years service to the
Toronto Fire Depart-
ment. Also on March 2
along with 50 other
members of the
Department there was an
investiture and reception
with presentation of long
service medals at the
Toronto Fire Academy. If
there are any people in
Clinton who would like to
see the Academy at 895
Eastern Ave. as well as
the museum they would
be welcome. It is open
weekdays, Monday to
Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Bakery to sell tickets on

Bundle Crippled
Children's Fund. Due to
rules, the name of the
organization cannot be
used, so these girls are
doing this on their own
under adult supervision
as a service project for
the International Year of
the Child, hoping that the
proceeds will help
children less fortunate
than themselves.

After 10 years of skating, Brenda Dupee, 16, of Clinton has finally made it into
the winning circle. Brenda took the third place, bronze medal at the annual
Western Ontario invitational competition in Sarnia recently. Brenda is a

Lions hoping for more donations
With only 19 days
remaining, the Lions
Club of Clinton Easter
Seal appeal now stands at
$1,087. -
Despite this, campaign
chairman Tony Van Zon
is still optimistic that the
club's objective of
$1,350.00 can still be
reached. \
"We can dQ it," he said,
"if all those who have
overlooked or misplaced
their pink donation return
envelope would /nail their
gift in right now."
"We ask only that each
area resident gives
IJhatever he or she can
spare," he added. "And if
anyone has lost the pink
envelope and doesn't
know where to send their
donation, the address is

Tony Van Zon ex-
plained that half of all
funds raised locally
remain in the community
for direct services to
physically handicapped
children. The remainder
is used by the Ontario
Society for Crippled
Children to provide other
province -wide services
normally beyond the
scope of any one com-
munity.
As, an affiliate of the
Ontario Society, the Lions
Club's charitable
registration number is
0250779-65-15 and tax
deductible receipts will
be issued automatically
for all contributions of $10
or more. Receipts for
donations under $10 will
be issued only on request
in an attempt to reduce
unnecessary expense.

been set aside by the staff
of the Clinton Library as
'Turnabout Day'. On this
day, all children visiting
the library are to wear
mixed-up clothes - stripes
with plaids, unmatched
socks, a tie on back-
wards, a silly hat or shoe
on the wrong foot, even a
way-out hairdo.

Contest are all planned to
be part of the fun at the
library.
This program will be
taking the place of our

delayed
The visit of Rev. Ken
Campbell of Rennaisance
International has been
delayed a month. He will
now be here on Wed-
nesday May 2 at 8 p.m.
and the Clinton Christian
Reformed School, not
April 4 as originally
reported.
Mr. Campbell has led a
group of concerned
parents who want certain
books removed from the
curriculum of schools
because of alleged ob-
scenities and have suc-
ceeded in getting "The
Diviners"„removed from
the classrooms in Huron
County high schools.
