Family dance in Constance

L1842 held their meeting
on March 8th in the hall.
Business discussed in-
cluded the family dance
coming up on March 31 in
the hall with Marie Flynn,
Orchestra providing the
music.
Plans are being made
for a Dessert Euchre in
April, and the Spring
Dance is set for April 14
at the Seaforth Legion
with Music Makers
providing the music.
The men from Court
Constance are helping at.
a Bingo for the C.C.R.A.
(Children's Cancer
Research Association) in
London on March 30, so
anyone interested in
helping, they're still in
need of helpers.

Andersoril presented
Siker June Fothergill
with a 25 year pin. At the
time of writing, Sis Anna
Dolmage is a patient in
Seaforth Community
Hospital. We would all
like to wish her a speedy
recovery.

apply in person...
If you didn't get a T4U, go to your local
Canada Employment Centre (Unemploy-
ment Insurance or Manpower Services).
Ask for a request card to apply for dupli-
cates. Give the completed card, with some
identification (like a credit card or driver's
license), to the information counter clerk. -
The clerk will certify and send it offfor
you. You'll get your duplicate slip in time to
file your tax return.

ACW meet
The March meeting of
the ACW of St. James,
met at the home of Mrs.
Vera Miller. Blanche
Deeves was in charge of
the meeting, welcomed
the ladies and thanked
Vera for opening her
home. Mrs. Deeves read
the Invocation and the
Scripture. Mrs. Miller
read the Meditation and
the prayer was said in
unison. Mrs. Deeves read
a poem and Mrs. Miller
gave a reading.
The secretary's report
was read by Sarah Storey
in the absence of Shirley.
The treasurer's report
was presented by Mrs.
Miller, Delores Dutot
gave the supply report
and Mrs. Deeves gave the
social services report.
Sarah Storey told of a
letter she received in the
need of $5 a month to feed
a child in Haiti. Audrey
Middleton made it a
notion t at for the ACW's
1979 project for Year of
the Child, a donation of
,$60.00 be sent to feed one
child. This was agreed
upon by the group.
Delores Dutot noted
that three crib quilts are
finished and now work
will begin on the pansy
quilt. A thank you was
made by Marion Smith
for their anniversary
wishes from the ladies.
The ACW has been asked
to make a bale for
children 6 years and
under, this bale to include
some diapers.___
Vera Miller is to buy
lilies for the church at
Easter. Rev. Bennett is to
supply a study book, by
Rev. Ken Bolton entitled
Wake Up My People. The
meeting was adjourned c,
by Mrs. Deeves. The
ladies spent time working
on the pansy blocks for
the quilt while Mrs.
Miller played several
numbers cn the organ.

PERSONALS
Those going to the
Grand Ole Opry with St.
James Church, please be
at Murphy's Bus Line by
5:00 sharp.
On Saturday morning
about 125 left Goderich to
attend the annual St.
Patrick's celebration in
Bay City, Michigan,
which included a parade
one and a half hours long.
From this area going on
the trip with Branch 109
Goderich were John and
Hilda Semple and John
Deeves. While there, they
attended the flag raising
ceremony at the Bay City
Cenotaph where John
Deeves was given the
honor of raising the
Canadian flag. On their
return, they stopped at
The Frankenmovth
Bavarian Inn for a
delicious supper. While
there, they listened to the
chimes as it struck the
hour. Some went souvenir
shopping. They arrived
back in Goderich Sunday
about midnight, and. Sewers was held at the
everyone, on the trip home of Mrs. Case Brand
an March 19. In the sixth
meeting, discussion was
held on basic kinds of
gloves and how to
measure your size so you
know what size of gloves
to buy.
In the seventh meeting
this was just a wrap-up
really enjoyed them-
selves.
May we from this area
offer our sympathy to
John Semple .and family
in the loss of his brother,
Sam Semple in London.
Len and Donna Mills
are home with their
parents Ed and Blanche
Deeves for a three week
holiday from CFB Shilo,
Manitoba.
On Sunday evening, the
Deeves held anan-
niversary supper for the
Mills on their first an-
niversary. Guests for
dinner were Bill Murphy
and Brenda and Jamie.
An enjoyable time was
had by all.
Congratulations to
Chris Wise on her position
at the Coach House
Travel Service in
Goderich.
4-H news
The sixth and seventh
meeting of the Super
meeting. A couple of
games were played on
what was learned in this
4-H project. For the
March 26 meeting each
member is to think up a
skit for Achievement
Day.
